Dog N Jog
Each April, pet owners from Salina, Kansas, make the drive to Kansas State University for the annual Dog ‘N Jog event. The Veterinary Health Center of the school hosts these 5k, 10k, and 1.5k races that are all a great opportunity for you to get out and exercise with your dog!
Online registration for each event is $25 per person, per race. Late entry on the morning of the race will be $30 per person, per race. Early registrants will receive a race T-shirt. Extra shirts are $15 each.
All proceeds from the races benefit KSDS Assistance Dogs, a group that helps provide service dogs to individuals in need.

Flyball Demo and Clinic
You won’t want to miss out on the Flyball Demo and Clinic that comes to Always Home Pet Services each year in Salina, Kansas! Take your dog each May to watch two teams compete in a Flyball demonstration.
While at the event, you can meet with trainers for a clinic to help your pupper learn how to take part in this unique, fun dog-sport. The event starts at 10:30, so don’t be late!
If you are bringing your family and dog, tickets will be $15. Pre-registered attendees can get tickets for their family for just $10. If you are just watching without a dog, tickets are only $7.50.

Dogtoberfest
Dogtoberfest hits Manhattan, Kansas, each October and brings fun for both humans their furry friends! Join other dogs and dog owners at CiCo Park for a full evening of events. Enter the dog costume contest or the trick contest to show off your pooch and win pawsome prizes!
Local, pet-related vendors will be set up during the event, so you can browse dozens of products and services. Enjoy the disc dog demo and let your kids participate in a variety of arts and crafts.
Next door, the Riley County Humane Society Spayghetti and No Balls dinner will be taking place at Pottorf Hall. Grab a delicious plate of spaghetti and meatballs to help the shelter raise much-needed funds!

Pet Poolooza
Calling all water-loving doggos to the annual Pet Poolooza event at CiCo Park Pool each August in Manhattan, Kansas! Your dog can enjoy some swim time between 1 pm and 4 pm. Listen to music, sign up for giveaways, or browse through local vendor booths for products that you just can’t live without!
Event organizers ask that you only bring well-behaved dogs to the event. All dogs must be licensed and up-to-date on their rabies vaccines.
A suggested donation of $2 will be requested at the door for each dog entering, but it isn’t required. Donations go to the City of Manhattan Animal Services Department.
Monthly Yappy Hour
Join Always Home Pet Services every month for a fun, dog-friendly Yappy Hour at the Speakeasy in Salina. On the third Tuesday of every month, drop by the Speakeasy with your pup between 6 pm and 8 pm for a relaxing evening of drinks and dogs. Dogs can mingle and enjoy super yummy treats! There will also be prizes to win, so you won’t want to miss it, either!
Some months, the Yappy Hour has a theme, and dogs in costume are highly encouraged. The event is free, but drinks and food are not. Dogs are required to stay on their leashes on the patio outside. Proof of vaccinations is required at the door.
