Before you adopt, be SURE you are financially able to care for your new pet for his/her entire lifetime. Many of the pets that PAWS take in have not had an easy go, and are in desperate need for a sense of permanence in their lives. It's also a good idea to figure out which type of dog will best suit your lifestyle. If you spend lots of time outdoors, a more active, younger dog may be perfect; if you tend to be a homebody and need a furry friend to sit on your lap, maybe an older, less active dog would be the right fit for you. The staff would be happy to help you find the perfect new family member that best fits your family.
A dog should be treated with kindness and respect and never be harmed. PAWS advocates for the rights of all tortured, abused and killed pets and vows to hold perpetrators accountable.
If you would like to join PAWS in their adoption, foster, rescue and/or advocacy efforts, please contact the society directly. They would be happy to hear from you!
