Dog Boarding in Buzzards Bay

The intriguing name of Buzzards Bay belongs to a small census-designated populace located in the area of Bourne, Massachusetts along the Cape Cod Canal. With such beautiful nature in this area, this is also the perfect community for dog walking and a community of humans who have compassion for animals.

There are about seventeen animal shelters within twenty-five miles of Buzzards Bay. With so many resources in the area, there are many options for locating a pet to adopt or foster or to find a resource for supporting you with your dog.

The Helping Paw was founded in 1998 - dedicated to ending the abuse, suffering and destruction of innocent pets. This non-profit shelter was voted one of the top 10 animal shelters in Massachusetts. They are a no-kill facility that has been featured in Cat Fancy Magazine and on CNN news. The shelter relies heavily on volunteers and donations to provide for the animals in need of shelter and placement into fur-ever homes. They offer a reduced-cost program for spay and neutering to help with the control of pet over-pup-ulation.

Always finding creative ways to raise funds to provide permanent homes for unwanted animals, they sponsor an eBay store. Community members can donate their clothes, goods, and products to the eBay store with the proceeds going to the shelter. They also sponsor events in which citizens can donate treats and toys to the pets. Spreading the word on good husbandry to pets, they offer claw trim events as well.

This noble organization is well reviewed for the quality of care they provide to animals that cannot be placed in homes due to behavior or medical issues.
