Hi, My name is Paul and I have had rescued three dogs since 1997. I had a large Bull Mastiff / St. Bernard mix named Veego that passed away at around 15 in 2012. I have had a German Shepherd since 2005, Honey is currently 14 years old. I have also had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Ben since 2007 that is about to be ten. I have pet sat for lots of friends in the past. Pitbulls, Rotweiller, Labradors, Boxer, Pug, Chihuahuas, French Bulldog, and a few Terriers. Seeing any dog always puts a smile on my face, from abandoned rescues to show dogs. I enjoy learning their unique personalities and quirks. I will treat your dog (and home) like I do my own, with love and care. I've also been vegetarian / vegan for over 25 years and like to stay active. Dog Boarding in Newton

Located along the Charles River just west of Boston, Newton is considered one of the best suburbs to live in Massachusetts. If the city’s canine residents could talk, they would surely voice their agreement! In addition to dog-friendly parks, restaurants, and hotels around the city, Newton’s four-legged citizens also have access to neighboring Boston’s canine hangouts, many of which are just a short drive away.

As a doting dog parent, you try to include your furchild in everything you do, but it’s not always possible. When you have to leave your precious pup behind for a few days or weeks, you want to make sure they’re in good paws. But before you start looking for dog kennels near you, keep in mind that this type of accommodation may not be the right option for your dog, especially if they were rescued or have anxiety.

Fortunately, you can arrange for overnight care in a comfy home environment with dog sitters and dog boarders in Newton. They’ll treat your pooch like their own, making sure Fido gets adequate food, cuddles, and exercise. Since a lot of local dog sitters and boarders are also dog walkers, they can take your pup for on-leash adventures along local trails or at Cold Spring Park (with your permission, of course!).

Curious about the average price for dog sitting and boarding in Newton, MA? Read on!

Average Cost of Dog Boarding in Newton

Dog boarding prices in Newton vary from place to place, but you can expect to spend between $60 to $70 per night for basic, crate-free accommodations. For pampered pooches, some boarding facilities offer luxury digs with cushy amenities such as human-sized beds, flat-screen TVs, and webcams. Of course, these premium rooms come at a price—$125 per night, to be exact.

But whether you go for an economy or deluxe option, prices can still go up, especially if you book over the holidays, book extra services, or check out late. Speaking of which, most Newton dog boarding facilities have set times for pick-ups and drop-offs, which can be a hassle if their hours don’t work with your schedule. In addition, many places only offer their dog boarding services to their regular walking or daycare clients.

But not to worry, as you can book a dog boarding provider conveniently through Wag!. Average rates start at $44 per night, and the final price is displayed on the screen once you’ve selected a Pet Caregiver—no hidden fees or unpleasant surprises here!

Average Cost of Dog Sitting in Newton

Some dogs feel most comfortable staying in their own home. For canines who are in their golden years, have mobility issues, or get nervous easily in unfamiliar environments, dog sitting is your best bet.

Dog sitting services in Newton range from quick visits to overnight stays. Local pet sitters charge around $20 per short visit, which typically includes one meal and a 15-minute walk. This may sound like an affordable option until you realize that most dogs require 3 or 4 visits over a 24-hour period. For overnight dog sitting, expect to pay $70 to $100 per night. Some sitters will perform basic housekeeping and administer medication if needed at no extra cost, but most charge additional fees for visits during weekends, holidays, and outside their regular hours.

You can secure top-notch care for your pup without spending an arm and a leg when you book dog sitters through Wag!. Rates start at $39 per night on average, and include playtime, cuddles, and medication. The final price is shown on the screen when you’ve chosen a Pet Caregiver, so you know exactly how much you’re paying.
