Black Tie and Tails
Black Tie and Tails is one of the most unique, formal events around. The gala is held every year in late April and features a seated dinner, tastings, and both live and silent auctions. Bring your pet and enter him or her in the pet fashion show! The evening is posted by WMAR-TV ABC2 News Anchor, Jamie Costello.
Events begin at 6 p.m. and wrap up at 10 p.m. at the Grand Lodge in Cockeysville, Maryland.
Proceeds from the Black Tie and Tails gala benefit the Baltimore Humane Society in Reisterstown. Advanced tickets cost $125, while general admission is $149. Formal dress is required for this event.

Boardwalkin' for Pets
Join the Worcester County Humane Society on a Saturday in late April for Boardwalkin’ for Pets. Starting at 8:30 a.m., the 2.5- and 5-mile walk registrations begin in preparation for the 9 a.m. race start. After the walk, enjoy refreshments from Harrison’s Harbor Watch Restaurant and Layton’s Family Restaurant at the Inlet!
Your dog will no doubt enjoy the sites and the socialization with the other pooches on the boardwalk.
Be sure to track your miles with WoofTrax! Proceeds benefit the Worcester County Humane Society. Registration fees will be announced closer to the event.

Puppy Plunge
Join the SPCA of Anne Arundel County at its annual Puppy Plunge every August. Your dog will get to enjoy time out on the beach, a beachwear parade, and even a pie eating contest! There are separate plunge areas for both small and large dogs to keep all pets safe.
Humans get to munch on food, glug down drinks, and enjoy a bit of shopping for pet-related goods. There will be live music at the event as well!
The plunge starts at 12 p.m. and wraps up at 4 p.m. This annual to-do takes place at Camp Letts in Edgewater, Maryland.
Admission prices will be released closer to the event date.

DogFest
September brings about one of the most exciting dog events in the Annapolis area! DogFest is a chance to celebrate all things dog! The Baltimore Humane Society in Reisterstown hosts the celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. DogFest features a walk, doggy swim time, demonstrations, and delicious food for both dogs and humans!
Rescue groups with adoptable dogs and cats will be ready to meet with potential new pet owners during the event. There will also be activities for children, so bring your little ones!
Advanced tickets will be $10 per person, and children under 12 getting in free. At the door, tickets will cost $15 each, children over five will cost $5, and children under five are free. But no matter how you buy your tickets, dogs always get in free!
BARCStoberfest
Every October, BARCStoberfest hits the Annapolis area! Bring your dog for a day of running and dog yoga to raise money for the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter. The event hosts both a 5k and 1-mile walk-a-thon to raise money for BARCS. Dress your dog up and celebrate to help the 12,000 shelter animals that come through the shelter’s doors each year!
Food and drinks will be available for participants to enjoy as they work up a sweat. Polish off a couple cold beers in the beer garden or sign your dog up for the Howl-o-ween costume contest. There will be a number of different animal activities that your dog can participate in, too!
