I almost considered cancelling my trip because my usual sitter was also out of town and I was scared to try out a new sitter. I m so glad I didn t because my anxious and sometimes reactive guy had the best time at Karlea s house! She went above and beyond to accommodate for my pup and showed him so much love. Karlea was very responsive and sent many updates and pictures which really put me at ease. Would highly recommend!!

Get ready to rock your paws off! Every summer, make sure to leave space on your calendar for some of the paws-itively wonderful local concerts. Birmingham's In the Park Concert Series is well-received by the surrounding communities for numerous reasons, including the fact that your best fur-pal is more than welcome to enjoy the music with you! While attending, do keep in mind that seating is only on the grass, so you may want to bring a blanket or even some chairs to relax with. These concerts do occur weekly, so be sure to check their website for more scheduling details!36
Birmingham Hometown Parade
Grab your pupper and head on over to the annual Birmingham Hometown Parade, which starts at South Old Woodward and Daines and ends in Shain Park. This parade is a great place to take every member of your family to enjoy a fur-tastic day out. Celebrating the hometown heroes of Birmingham, this parade is a beautiful way to start off all of the summer activities that go on in this paw-some city. After the parade, be sure to hang out in the park for a good while so that your kids can enjoy the free activities set up for them!24

Each year in Birmingman, you will find numerous activities for you and your whole family to delight in. In this city, you can also find activities strictly for your much-loved pup. At Pet Wants Birmingham, located conveniently at 33772 Woodward Avenue, the crew throws an amazing Halloween get-together for all of pup-kind. This event features pet costume contests, raffles, refreshments, pet photos, and even face painting for your other family members! On top of that, they also give out goody bags for your kids. This highly regarded event is the perfect night out for you and your entire family, fur and all!
Put on your Shopping Shoes!
Like many cities, Birmingham has its very own Farmers Market. This market is run annually and has upwards of 50 vendors that attend. This outdoor market makes it easy to grab your pup for a nice day out at the shops! There may even be a nice pet shop set up somewhere for them to browse! Grab your shopping bags and your best puppy pal and get to shopping. Just keep in mind, the market is not open all year round, so you will want to check online before making a trip to Parking Lot #6, on North Old Woodward.
