Canton Dog Park
When visiting Canton, MI, make sure you and your puppy pal head on over to the Canton Dog Park. Located between Denton Rd. and North of Cherry Hill Rd, your canine friend will love having the freedom to roam the 6-acres that this park has to offer! This beautiful park has two separate areas; one for dogs over 20 lbs and one for dogs under 20 lbs. The park itself is open from dawn until dusk 7 days a week, weather permitting. You do need a dog permit to enter the park, which can be purchased by contacting the Township Clerks Office. Not too ruff!36
Heritage Park
Located at 1150 S Canton Center Rd, Canton, MI 48188, Heritage Park is probably the most well-known park in the area. In addition to being a great hangout for music and festivals during the warmer months, it is also a fur-tastic place to bring your fluffy friends all year round! In this park, you and your pupper will be able to walk around the pond or run through the grassy areas. There are also benches and picnic tables for your convenience. Your pup must be leashed and well behaved while visiting Heritage Park in order to have the most paw-some experience!24
Concerts in the Park
As previously mentioned, Heritage Park is a great destination for you and your pup. Although you can go to the park throughout the year, it is only during the summertime that you can enjoy the Concerts in the Park! These concerts are showcased on Thursday nights throughout the summer starting in June and continuing on through August. You can attend these concerts with your fur-families for a fun night out in the heat! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to get the best experience out of the night!12
Morton Taylor Trailhead
Grab your fur-babies and head over to the Morton Taylor Trailhead. These trails are open to the public and they are a great place to explore all that nature has to offer in Canton! The trails have a few different entrances, but the most convenient one would be off of Morton Taylor and Michigan Avenue, which happens to be where the barking lot is located!According to the locals, the best spots aren't on the trails, but off of the beaten path. Shallow streams are found throughout the area where pups can cool down in during the warmer months, and there are a few benches on the path to sit down and relax on!
