I almost considered cancelling my trip because my usual sitter was also out of town and I was scared to try out a new sitter. I m so glad I didn t because my anxious and sometimes reactive guy had the best time at Karlea s house! She went above and beyond to accommodate for my pup and showed him so much love. Karlea was very responsive and sent many updates and pictures which really put me at ease. Would highly recommend!!

Barktoberfest
Every September, Royal Oak holds what they call Barktoberfest. This festival occurs annually and goes on for two days. This exciting event, held at Memorial Park, includes a plethora of activities for you and your pooch to enjoy together! Activities include a Howl-a-ween Costume Contest, a Wiener Dog Race and much more! While there, pet-parents can walk around the event and enjoy shopping at different vendors while listening to the live bands that perform. Also at Barktoberfest, you will find locally brewed beers, food, and much more. The entry fee is $5 per person and children 10 and under get in free! Make sure to head over to this bark-tastic event!36
Hamlin Corner
Head on over to Hamlin Corner, located at 386 N Main St, for some great grub and wonderful company! At this local eatery, you and your pooch are able to dine together at their 8 pet-friendly tables. This restaurant has been commended by locals as a great place for four-legged friends, thanks in part to the wonderful staff who bring out water for your thirsty canine. On top of being dog-friendly, Hamlin Corner is also quite delicious, with a menu inspired by the surrounding city, so make sure to visit while in Royal Oak. Wagner Dog Park
Located at 2420 N Main St, this park has an entire area for your pupper to go off-leash! Known as the Wagner Park Dog Run, this park is open to the public and includes a designated area just for your pooch to get their exercise. This area is not fenced, so you must be sure to keep an eye on your fur-baby at all times. If bringing other members of your family, the park also includes picnic tables, a playground, and a frisbee golf course! This park is open year-round for your full enjoyment.12
Royal Oak Dog Park
Royal Oak is not only home to one dog park; it is home to two! The second dog park is a fenced park, located at 4600 N Campbell Rd. This park is the official dog park of the area, requiring a membership in order to enter. The membership does require that your pupper have proof of vaccinations, along with a membership fee. This can be turned in at the City Clerk's Office. After that is all said and done, you and your four-legged friends can enjoy the dog park at your leisure.
Tom's Oyster Bar
Hot Dog! After all of this running around, it is safe to say it's about time to let you know about another dog-friendly restaurant. Tom's Oyster Bar, located at 318 S Main St, has an outdoor patio that allows you and your pooch to dine together! Being dog-friendly, the staff is more than happy to grab your pup some ice-cold water while you eat. This seafood-inspired restaurant is open every day of the week with hours varying each day.
