Terrific in every way! Addison is professional, friendly, competent and intelligent. She handled my huge male Malamute with confidence and ease and he just loved her.

Tour the Vineyards

With a beautiful view of the Bay, you can enjoy sips of wine and explore the acres of local vineyards with your leashed dog. The Brys Estate Vineyards and Eatery is listed as #5 of 116 things to do in Traverse City by visitors. Dogs are not allowed indoors but the outdoor area is so beautiful, it will be a treat to walk around and take in the sights, sounds, smells and ambience of the area. Other wineries welcoming dogs for walks (as owners savor some wine) are the Chateau of Grand Traverse Winery and Bowers Harbor Vineyards. Ultimate Air Dogs at the National Cherry Festival

The National Cherry Festival occurs every summer and is packed with activities that include rides, films, parades, picnics, games, and vendors! The Air Dogs are among the most popular. Trainers and their "dog-thletes" show off their speed, timing, and agility by jumping off of docks and flying through the air to retrieve toys at the farthest distances. Variations of the games are to splash, catch, or fetch and each owner-dog team gets two trials. There are Ultimate Air Dog clubs where you can train with your pet to prepare for the winning of a title at the festival. It's also a fun event to watch and see the puppers in such joyful games!

Traverse Area Recreaton and Transportation Trail (TART)

The Traverse Area Recreation Trail (TART) is one of the 1600 Rail-to-Trail Conservancy trails. The 13-mile trail extends through the Grand Traverse area from Leelanau to Traverse City. Trail activities include biking, inline skating, and walking. Groomed for year-long walks, the trail will take the wanderer from the site of a former saw-mill, through forests, along the beautiful bay and into downtown full of shops. Along the way, you will find beaches with parks for watching the sailboats and families playing in the sand. The trail includes loops around the Boardman Lake and connects to other trails in the area. Download maps and guides to plan days of tail-wagging walks and excursions with your dog to enjoy for years!

Silver Lake Dog Park

Described as a hidden gem, this dog park resides in the nearby Silver Lake Recreation Area. The dog park has fenced, separate play areas for small and large dogs. Amenities include water bowls and poop bags. With benches, tennis balls, and ropes, it's a fun place to play! A newer park, there are sidewalks connecting the parking lots, picnic areas, and dog park. Be sure to plan to play for the day as the area includes a multi-use field for playing catch or frisbee! There are more play areas for people that include ball fields, basketball courts,  a sledding hill and a walking trail!
