Give a Wag! Gives to Westland Shelters

At the heart of Westland, MI, you will find the Michigan Humane Society, located at 900 N Newburgh Rd. Also known as the Berman Center for Animal Care, this shelter is known for being the oldest and the largest animal welfare organization in the state! They have helped an incredible amount of animals since opening their doors in 1971, and will continue to do so for years to come thanks to the surrounding communities.

This shelter is open Monday through Saturday from noon until five, with the exception of Wednesday, in which they stay open until seven, for your convenience. This wonderful organization also has a veterinary clinic which is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 8 pm. They are also open Saturday, from 8:30 am to 5 pm for those of you who cannot make it there during the week.

On top of being a fur-tastically built establishment, you can see the staff truly cares about each animal that comes through its doors. With the community's help through donations, this non-profit organization has been able to treat and take care of animals who need various types of assistance, whether emotional or medical. This particular shelter helps treat not only dogs and cats, but smaller critters too! The Berman Center for Animal Care has dedicated its resources to the welfare of all animals, and will continue to do so for years to come. If you would like to donate your time or resources, be sure to check out their website.
