Give a Wag! Gives to Wyandotte Shelters

When deciding to visit Michigan, be sure to stop by the city of Wyandotte! Wyandotte is known to many people as the "Heart of Downriver," and for good reason, especially because it has such a vast array of activities for you and your family, fur and all! Before diving into the paw-some activities, here is a look at their top shelters and why they are considered to be some of the best around.

Shelter to Home Animal Rescue is one of the better-known rescues in the surrounding area. This rescue takes in pups and cats that have been impounded. They rescue them from local shelters where they may not have been given the chance to live. They are a mostly foster-based rescue as well as being completely non-profit. The shelter is run exclusively by volunteers, including the Board of Directors and its Officers. To donate or volunteer, be sure to go to their website for more information. If you would like to drop off items, they are located at 266 Oak Street.

While visiting this city, keep in mind there are two shelters, the second being the Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center. This facility is run by volunteers as well and accepts donations of all kinds. This shelter provides medical care for sick and injured animals and relies heavily on the generous donations received from the local communities to keep going. If you are interested in adopting, you may go on to their pup-tastic website to view all available animals as well as fill out an application.
