Lewis & Clark Humane Society is a dedicated adoption center located in the heart of Helena. A non-profit organization working to end pet overpopulation and improve the humane treatment of our furry friends, Lewis & Clark also offers public outreach and education classes, and protection for citizens worried about the welfare of their pets. The facility was founded in 1964 as a solution to the growing lost and abandoned pet problem Helena was facing. Today they serve a population of around 70,000 in southwestern Montana.Located about an hour from Helena in Ovando, MT, Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary rescues, shelters, and re-homes disabled animals. Founded in 2000, Rolling Dog caters to blind dogs, horses, and other animals with disabilities. While many of the animals remain living on the ranch, the Sanctuary does get healthy animals that are available for adoption.
