Hello!! I am a college student home in NH because of Covid. I love all animals, especially dogs, and can't wait to spend some time walking your wonderful pup(s) and make a little extra money doing so! I grew up taking care of horses, goats, rabbits and dogs on a farm, and have always had at least 2 dogs in my own household; my family currently has two tibetan terriers (Snickers and Midnight) who I get to spend time with now that I’m home. I can't wait to meet your dog(s)!

I have always been an animal lover (I even celebrated one of my birthdays at an SPCA and asked guests to bring donations for the animals!) and have had many experiences with dogs throughout my time in college. Between dog sitting and walking for a variety of people and dogs, I know that I am committed and excited to look after your four-legged friend. I understand that even though dogs may sometimes have a mind of their own, it is important that they are always be treated with respect.

Hi, I’m Kaleigh! I have lived with multiple dogs my entire life and have lots of experience handling them (even the very worst leash pullers!). Family and friends have used me for dog sitting and walking throughout the years, and I absolutely love it! I am now working as a nurse in Milwaukee and walking dogs for busy dog owners in my spare time :) I will treat your best friend just like they’re my own.

Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord Merrimack County is located at 94 Silk Farm Road in Concord, New Hampshire. Their mission is to provide shelter, love and care for all abandoned, neglected, abused or homeless animals. They do this by educating the community about the responsibilities of having a pet and the joy it brings to both the animal and their new family.
Any animal that comes into the Pope Memorial SPCA will be seen by a veterinarian and receive any and all medical care it requires. Each creature is also provided with a warm, safe place to call their temporary home and receives exercise, love, cuddles and proper nutrition. The staff at Pope Memorial are passionate about their fur babies and how to find them perfect forever homes. If you are interested in adopting a new best friend, please contact the staff and they will get you started on the adoption process and answer any questions you may have about adopting. Whether you are a first-time pet parent or you are adding to your furry flock, Pope Memorial is certain your new best friend is just a visit away, and they can't wait to meet you!
If you are unable to adopt right now but have some spare time, you can volunteer at the SPCA - the staff could sure use your help! No matter how little or how much time you can spare, there is always a task that needs to be done including clerical work, data entry, transportation, exercising the animals, cleaning, playing or just giving a little TLC to the critters. Every job is an important and necessary part of what keeps the Pope Memorial SPCA running.
Pope Memorial prides itself on its community outreach programs. Education is key to the humane treatment of all animals. They have a pet therapy program where their pets go to the area's hospitals and nursing homes to provide some wags and cuddles to those who need them. They also offer educational programs for kids about being a responsible pet parent, being kind and gentle, not approaching stray, unleashed animals and always asking permission to pet a dog before doing so. The school children can even come to the rescue to read to their furry pets - the animals love it and the children learn a valuable lesson on being kind to creatures. Pope Memorial SPCA also offers low-cost shot clinics, a pet food pantry and you can even throw your kid's birthday party at the facility! How fun - if your child is passionate about animals, this is a great way for them to spend some time with the SPCA's furry babies and have fun in the process!
If you are looking for a new best buddy, would like to volunteer, foster or you have any questions about any of Pope Memorial's community outreach programs, please contact them. Your new best friend cannot wait to meet you!
This festive event brings the entire community together for a celebration of the coming holiday season. The whole family is welcome to come downtown and watch as the Mayor flips the switch on the majestic evergreen in the square, illuminating the whole area in blinking, twinkling and dazzling lights. Fido and Fifi (aka your furry family members) can join in on the family fun as long as they are on a 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes please, for safety reasons) and you are a courteous paw-parent and you clean up after them. Enjoy some holiday cheer with the whole community! Don't forget to stop by and say hello to Santa!
Let's go for a walk! Grab Fido or Fifi's leash, some poop bags, some water and you're all set! The walking trails at Winant Park Trails are the perfect way to spend some time outside with your furry buddy. Get some fresh air and exercise as you take in the peaceful greenery that surrounds you. Be courteous to others on the trails and clean up after your little buddy. You can walk the trail in about 90 minutes. Work up an appetite and maybe even have a little bite to eat with your furry friend afterward. Sounds like the perfect day is in store for you!
If you are looking for the freshest veggies, fruits, flowers and herbs around, you and the whole family (yes, even your pooch) should head to Lewis Farm and Greenhouse. Lewis Farm and Greenhouse is located at 192 Silk Farm Road in Concord, New Hampshire. Their hours vary season to season, so give them a quick call before you head out or check their website. Make sure Fido or Fifi remain leashed (no retractable leashes please) and you clean up after them while at the farm. They even offer compost, wood chips and sand for you do-it-your-selfers out there!
Are you and the family craving some outdoor adventure? Make sure to visit the friendly folks at Contoocook River Canoe Company located at 9 Horse Hill Road in Concord, New Hampshire. Even friendly puppers can join in on the fun as long as they wear a life jacket and stay in your control inside the canoe or paddleboards. Feel like flying solo? Why not try out a kayak? They even offer guided fishing tours and classes on kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding. Sunshine, fresh air and time with the whole family - sounds like the perfect way to shake off those winter blues!
Shop therapy with your best furry friend is possible at this dog-friendly shopping center! Settlers' Green is located at 2 Common Court in nearby Conway, New Hampshire. There are over 60 stores in the shopping center and all dog-friendly stores are clearly marked on the outside window. Your canine compadre may join you inside those stores if he is well-behaved and is on a 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes please) and you are a responsible paw parent and clean up after your poochie. There are dog waste stations throughout the center and, during the summer, they feature a Bring Your Dog Shopping day with treats and goodie bags, activities and photos! How fun?!
