Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord Merrimack County is located at 94 Silk Farm Road in Concord, New Hampshire. Their mission is to provide shelter, love and care for all abandoned, neglected, abused or homeless animals. They do this by educating the community about the responsibilities of having a pet and the joy it brings to both the animal and their new family.
Any animal that comes into the Pope Memorial SPCA will be seen by a veterinarian and receive any and all medical care it requires. Each creature is also provided with a warm, safe place to call their temporary home and receives exercise, love, cuddles and proper nutrition. The staff at Pope Memorial are passionate about their fur babies and how to find them perfect forever homes. If you are interested in adopting a new best friend, please contact the staff and they will get you started on the adoption process and answer any questions you may have about adopting. Whether you are a first-time pet parent or you are adding to your furry flock, Pope Memorial is certain your new best friend is just a visit away, and they can't wait to meet you!
If you are unable to adopt right now but have some spare time, you can volunteer at the SPCA - the staff could sure use your help! No matter how little or how much time you can spare, there is always a task that needs to be done including clerical work, data entry, transportation, exercising the animals, cleaning, playing or just giving a little TLC to the critters. Every job is an important and necessary part of what keeps the Pope Memorial SPCA running.
Pope Memorial prides itself on its community outreach programs. Education is key to the humane treatment of all animals. They have a pet therapy program where their pets go to the area's hospitals and nursing homes to provide some wags and cuddles to those who need them. They also offer educational programs for kids about being a responsible pet parent, being kind and gentle, not approaching stray, unleashed animals and always asking permission to pet a dog before doing so. The school children can even come to the rescue to read to their furry pets - the animals love it and the children learn a valuable lesson on being kind to creatures. Pope Memorial SPCA also offers low-cost shot clinics, a pet food pantry and you can even throw your kid's birthday party at the facility! How fun - if your child is passionate about animals, this is a great way for them to spend some time with the SPCA's furry babies and have fun in the process!
If you are looking for a new best buddy, would like to volunteer, foster or you have any questions about any of Pope Memorial's community outreach programs, please contact them. Your new best friend cannot wait to meet you!
