Give a Wag! Gives to Manchester Shelters

Manchester, New Hampshire, isn’t known for its homeless pet population, but like most other towns, it still does have many animals who need families. Fortunately, animal shelters in the area work tirelessly to care for and find new homes for hundreds of these animals every year! Two of these dedicated shelters are the Manchester Animal Shelter and All Better Pets Animal Rescue.

The Manchester Animal Shelter’s mission is to prevent more homeless animals in Manchester, New Hampshire, by operating a spay and neuter program, educating the public on responsible pet ownership, and providing care for animals who are already homeless. Since its opening in 1996, the shelter has been able to find homes for over 20,000 animals. As a non-profit, the shelter relies on donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees to provide shelter, food, medical care, and spays/neuters to all the dogs and cats in its care.

All Better Pets started in 2010 to help provide for homeless animals in the region. By 2012, the organization became registered as a non-profit, which means that it needs donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees to continue to help animals in need. All Better Pets takes in sick and injured pets as well as at-risk animals in high-kill rate shelters nearby. While lots of the animals are housed at the shelter, many of them go home with volunteers for a little while to be evaluated, trained, and given a little extra love. All animals are given vaccinations and preventative medications.

If you live in the area and are looking for a new pet, contact one of these organizations today!
