Absecon Lighthouse
Are you feeling like a day of old-timey adventure and exploration - pup in tow? Climb to the top of the Absecon Lighthouse, New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse, with Fido beside you on his leash. If that’s too much exercise for your pooch, let him play on the expansive lawns instead. From September - June, the lighthouse is open Thursday - Monday and daily from July - August. Come check out this amazing landmark - and let Fido brush up on his history knowledge!

If you and your pooch prefer shopping over sightseeing, be sure to stop at Jake’s Dog House at the Quarter in the Tropicana Hotel and Resort. Is Rover feeling a bit peckish? Jake’s offers fresh-baked pet treats baked right on site, and a plethora of toys and accessories! Your pupper will feel right at home when he sees the big red fire hydrant, the store’s Northern Star.

Historic Cold Spring Village
Perhaps you would like to see some of the historic sights that this city has to offer with your favorite pooch while you're in town. Historic Cold Spring Village has 22 acres of land filled with 26 different historic buildings! You’re welcome to bring Fluffy along on her leash as you explore this 19th century, open-air, living museum. Home to several farm animals, you’ll also see working craftsmen in period costume. Come spend the day in a different way, and party like its 1899!

Historic Towne of Smithville and Village Greene
Another historical site that is happy to have four-legged visitors is the Historic Towne of Smithville and Village Greene. Walk around with your pup and check out the marine and boardwalk. Be sure to make your way to the Village Greene, as this area is where Paw Dazzle—the ultimate pet boutique—happens to be located! The latest trends in fashion, treats and toys are abundant, and they also sell pet accessories like bowls, beds, and more. Get a free treat when you bring Fido in with you!
Boardwalk Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show
If you’re in the area in January, be sure to attend Atlantic City’s famous annual Boardwalk Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show at the Wildwoods Convention Center! You’ll get to see more than 150 breeds of dogs competing in Best of Breed competitions, Obedience and Rally trials, puppy competitions, and Canine Good Citizens clinics. On Saturday a Police K-9 demonstration and awards ceremony for valor and service will be held. Be sure to see all of the amazing woofers at this event, or even try your hand at competing if your pooch is up to par!
