“Your friendly neighborhood dog walker”

I started pet sitting when I was in high school. Several of my friends had dogs that I would care for while they were away. To make extra money in college I began to walk and then board a local Shiba Inu; a gig I kept until I started working full time. I have always loved animals, but was unable to have any as a child because of allergies some of my family members have. Now my wife and I currently have two dogs (a beagle and a havanese/poodle mix), three cats, two rabbits, and a conure.

Dog Boarding in Cranbury

New Beginnings Animal Rescue was established in 2013 by a dedicated group of individuals who wanted to make a difference for animals in need and give them the opportunity for a new beginning! Many of the founders are former staff members and volunteers of Sayreville Pet Adoption Center in nearby Sayreville, NJ, which closed permanently in 2012.

Seeing a need for a safe haven for the area's homeless animals, they formed New Beginnings. This nonprofit organization is operated entirely by volunteers who compassionately commit their time and energy to providing care and refuge for animals in need. As a no-kill shelter, it is their mission to rescue as many animals as they can, fulfil their physical, emotional, and medical needs, and find them loving forever homes. The shelter is small, but their efforts and volunteer network are growing every year!

In 2016, they saved the lives of more than 230 dogs and cats. In addition to providing animal shelter and care, the rescue facilitates pet adoptions and is committed to helping potential adopters find the perfect pet to fit their lifestyle. By finding each animal in need the most suitable and loving placement, New Beginnings strives to keep pets in their homes, thus strengthening the local community and the human-animal bond.

Animal Placement Agency of the Windsors (APAW) is another animal shelter serving the homeless dogs of Cranbury, NJ. Located nearby in West Windsor Township, APAW was established in 1969 to provide dogs and puppies with a temporary home until they are united with their forever family.

The shelter is a nonprofit organization funded entirely by the generosity of private donors. Their efforts are made possible by a team of committed, caring volunteers who provide the dogs with a sense of belonging and emotional support during their chapter at APAW. Every canine that is sheltered by APAW receives complete veterinary care inclusive of routine health examinations, vaccinations, a microchip, deworming (if necessary), and monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Additionally, dogs over 6 months old are spayed/neutered before adoption. In all that they do, it is APAW's motto to adopt with confidence and place with peace of mind, ensuring that every dog who comes into their care has the best chance at happily ever after.
