Queens, New York is the second biggest of the five boroughs in the famous NYC. Known for its diversity, culture, and pizzazz, there's always plenty to do in Queens - especially if you have a four-legged friend with you!
Much of this has to do with the large amount of diversity in the area, however, it can also be credited to the rescue shelter and organizations in and around Queens that help encourage a more dog-friendly atmosphere.
One of the rescue organizations located in Queens, Bobbi and the Strays, is an NYC-based shelter that focuses on rehabilitation, homeless animals, re-homing, and fostering the pups that need it most. Running entirely on donations and volunteers, they've managed to help the community's animals for over 20 years!
New York City is also the headquarters of one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the US - the APSCA! This privately funded organization boasts over 2 million supporters nationwide and is recognized as a national animal welfare organization. Their overall goal? Provide the effective means for the prevention of the cruelty of animals.
