Give a Wag! Gives to Saratoga Springs Shelters

Saratoga Springs, NY is situated in the center of New York's affluent Capital Region, just north of Ballston Spa. Ranked as one of the top 10 places to live in New York in 2014, Saratoga Springs gets its name from the local mineral springs found in the area, a top tourist attraction! The city is home to several influential animal shelters, all of which aim to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals in need of a second chance.

Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is a non-profit organization that has been helping lost, abused, and unwanted animals in New York's Capital Region since 18887. Mohawk Hudson is the oldest and largest shelter in the area. MHHS relies on donations to support its efforts and the services it provides for animals. In addition to adoption services, MHHS offers numerous programs, including humane education, community education, animal abuser registry, spay/neuter services, pet bereavement support group, and a pet pantry for animals in need.

Saratoga County Animal Shelter is located in nearby Ballston Spa and offers a range of services and solutions designed to help unwanted, abused, or lost animals. In conjunction with local organizations such as Saratoga County's Office of Aging, the shelter offers discounted adoptions for senior citizens ($6 for dogs; free for cats). There are numerous foster and volunteer opportunities through the shelter as well as rabies clinics, animal surrender and redemption opportunities, and a K9 fundraiser.

Estherville Animal Shelter is a Greenfield Center shelter that is located less than 5 miles from Saratoga Springs and supports a mission of providing food, water, shelter, veterinary care, and a loving home to animals in need. Once the rescued pets are brought back to physical health, the shelter works hard to find them a fur-ever home that will provide them with unconditional love, support, and understanding. This no-kill animal shelter also hosts numerous events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year in support of abused and abandoned animals.
