“I treat every dog like my own!”

I’ve been dog walking for a year and a half, I have been dog sitting and boarding for several years. I own 3 dogs myself and have always loved animals. I especially love the bully breeds and big dogs. The dogs that are more difficult are my speciality! Every dog I walk is treated like my own and I take the time to get to know their personality by the time our walk is over. I love my job walking your dogs and can guarantee a worn out pup when we get back!

I’ve raised them all from puppy stage, so I also have a lot of experience with each doggy stage.

“Walking your best friend is an honor.”

Hello! I have worked with shelter dogs my whole life and I am very comfortable with their individual quirks. I currently have 3 roommates: a mixed breed, a 3-legged shar-pei, and a once homeless street beagle and they are my best friends. I would do anything for them and I promise to treat yours with the same respect. I am quite familiar with the importance that dogs provide the family and I promise to give your fur baby the same love I give my own. I can’t wait to meet your pup!

Hey! My name’s Dylan and I’ve been working with Wag for over a year- all weather, all breeds- and I’m hugely proud of the hundreds of clients who trust me with their dogs. I grew up as the caretaker to the sweetest corgi, with a large extended family nearby that was bouncing with all kinds of dogs. I’ve trained for track with a golden (yes, I can handle a runner pooch), toured the country with a dog in the band van, and now as a working musician fill the dog-shaped hole in my heart with Wag!

“Pup need a potty break? I got this!”

Hi, I’m Tracy, I’ve been walking with WAG! For almost 3 years now. It’s definitely the most fun/rewarding job I’ve had. I love meeting all the new dogs and taking them on an adventure (that’s dog speak for walk...lol). I have also been walking dogs at the Columbus Humane shelter for over 10 years and it’s from there that I adopted my two Chihuahuas.  I know you cherish your fur babies and I will take care of them as good as I take care of my own. I can’t wait to meet and get to know them!

Hi, my name is Sue and there is nothing more I enjoy than spending time with dogs! When I was little I brought home all the homeless dogs, as an adult I continue with that behavior. I have spent the last 30+ years owning dogs and the last 20 years involved with animals rescue through breed specific organizations and Humane Societies. I have fostered and rehabilitated many dogs of numerous breeds and personalities, some who loved everyone, some who could not trust anyone. Each dog I meet I recognize as an individual. My walks focus on what they enjoy and what you request. I am fortunate to be able to finally do what I love, provide superb care and love to your dog while you are at work or away! Thank you.

Dog Boarding in Columbus

Columbus

is a "pawsome" city for doggos, with plenty of pet-friendly businesses and vast off-leash areas for you and your pup to enjoy. But if you have to leave town in a hurry and can't bring Lucky along, you’ll need to start searching for dog kennels near you.

However, you may not be keen on sending your fur-baby to a kennel. Thankfully, there are some alternatives, like dog boarding and dog sitting. Dog boarders and sitters will care for your woofer in a home environment, meaning they'll be much cozier than they might be at your local kennel.

As well as looking after Fido for you, many dog sitters and boarders offer dog walking services in Columbus. With your permission, your caregiver can take your pooch for a hike along the Blacklick Creek Greenway in Reynoldsburg to help them de-stress while you're away.

Keep reading to find out all you need to know about dog boarding and sitting in Columbus.

Average Cost of Dog Boarding in Columbus, OH

Dog boarding in Columbus generally takes place at a facility similar to a kennel. Columbus dog boarding is fairly run-of-the-mill — there aren’t many luxury facilities in the city. As these kennels are standard, they are relatively inexpensive at around $45 per night. These kennels provide your pup with a place to stay and an outside area where your woofer can make some new pals.

If you are planning on booking a kennel, make sure you check the requirements. Some kennels have strict rules on vaccinations and microchipping. Many dog boarders across Columbus also require proof that your pooch is protected against parasites such as heartworm.

Your pup may not enjoy kennels if they're skittish or a rescue with a history of being in a shelter. One great alternative is in-home dog boarding on the Wag! platform. Dog boarders with Wag! provide overnight care at their home, so your pup will be in a more comfortable environment. With rates starting at just $39 per night, it’s an affordable option that’s sure to keep your Collie cozy.

Average Cost of Dog Sitting in Columbus, OH

Looking for a way to leave your pupper at home? Overnight dog sitters in Columbus will come to your house to watch over Scoob, so you can rest easy knowing your pup is as happy as possible. While dog sitting may be preferable to putting your pooch in a kennel, local facilities can be expensive and generally charge between $60 and $150 a night.

Many sitters in Columbus don't offer overnight stays, but will instead stop by for 30 minutes to play with your fur-baby, feed them, and let them out for a potty break. These services generally cost between $25 and $40 for a 30-minute visit.

When booking a dog sitter in Columbus, always check the fine print. Some dog sitters will charge extra for transportation, walks, potty breaks, and more. You may also find there's an additional charge if you have multiple mutts.

Some sitters only work between certain hours, so if your dog needs medication or is on a specific schedule, you may have to sort out an alternative. It's always worth speaking to your chosen sitter over the phone or in person before booking so you can find out about hidden fees and get to know who's watching over your woofer.

Dog Sitting in Columbus, OH

Some puppers hate being away from home and may be best suited to dog sitting. Dog sitters on the Wag! platform will stay overnight at your house and tend to your hound's every need. Just head to the "Overnight" section on the Wag! app, choose “Sitting”, enter details about your trip, and get ready to book a slumber party for your canine compadre.

Check out your chosen dog sitter's profile to make sure they can meet your pup's needs. Then contact them through Wag! Chat to let them know if your dog has any special medical or exercise requirements.

You can also stay up-to-date with how Fido is getting along. Your local dog sitter will regularly send you photos and videos of your mutt playing and napping, so you can relax while you're away, knowing your pupper is comfortable.

It's never easy leaving your fur-baby, even if it's only for an evening. Dog caregivers through Wag! ensure your pup is safe and happy while you're out of town. Book a dog sitter or boarder through Wag! today and see what everyone's barking about!
