Give a Wag! Gives to Tulsa Shelters

If you care about animals and believe that every dog deserves to know love, you’ll feel right at home in Tulsa. Oklahoma’s second most populous city boasts a number of excellent animal welfare organizations, each of which works tirelessly to help unwanted, abused, and homeless animals find loving homes.

The Humane Society of Tulsa is one of those organizations who are determined to make a difference. With a mission to bring people and pets together and then keep them together, it helps rescued dogs and cats find permanent, loving homes.

Animal Aid Tulsa is another of the city’s animal welfare non-profits. With a commitment to save sick, injured, and abused stray dogs and cats, Animal Aid Tulsa has been offering animal welfare services to the local community since 1961. Donations and volunteers are always welcome, and the group holds regular adoption events where animal lovers can find their next pet.

Route 66 Pet Rescue is also worthy of recognition and support. A no-kill rescue organization run by volunteers, this inspirational non-profit rescues stray cats and dogs from Tulsa’s streets and helps them find forever homes. It rehomed 100 dogs in 2016, and is always calling for more foster carers and donations.

    #2 Bark Walk

Boxers are a beautiful and boisterous breed, and Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is dedicated to helping these gorgeous dogs find loving homes. To do that it needs funds, which is where the annual Bark Walk comes in. This paw-some family event is the rescue group’s big annual fundraiser and it features a one-mile walk through Central Park on Main in Broken Arrow. The walk ends at Pet Fest, a free pet-acular event that includes pet contests, local vendors, local rescue groups, music, raffles, and a kids’ zone.
