Give a Wag! Gives to Allentown Shelters

Lehigh County Humane Society has been serving the community of Allentown, and its pet populations, since 1906. Their mission is to be a safe harbor for any homeless animal, despite their age, health or demeanor. They provide each animal that comes into their doors with medical care, proper nutrition and lots of love. The staff then begins trying to find each pet the perfect forever home. They work with many other area rescues and foster groups and will not give up on any pet inside their walls until they get a happily ever after.

Lehigh County Humane Society is proud of their community outreach programs as well. They educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering pets and on being kind to all animals. In addition to this, they investigate any and all animal cruelty complaints, providing low-cost vaccination clinics, and a food pantry for low-income families,

If you are looking for a new best friend, or to add another furry face to your family, please contact the Lehigh County Humane Society. They will be glad to answer any questions you may have and discuss the adoption process. Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment and they want to be certain any potential adoptive parent agrees with this. A pet is not a present; but they are a gift - a gift of unconditional love, a gift of a precious lifetime bond between dog and his people.

If you are unable to adopt right now, Lehigh County Humane Society is always in need of dependable, loving volunteers or foster families to help them care for the dogs under their roof. If you are able to give some spare time to this worthy cause, it would be appreciated greatly by both the staff and the sweet animals it hopes to rehome.

#5 Animal Giving Tree at Lehigh County Humane Society

    0
Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas the Lehigh County Humane Society places a Christmas tree in their hallway. There are ornaments with names of dogs that are in need of something - a special toy, donations for medical care or just something squeaky, fluffy or chewy. Please bring your pupper in to help you select a worthy dog or two; every pup deserves a new toy or a special treat, especially on Christmas! While you are at the shelter, take the time to thank the staff for their dedication to the animals there throughout the year. Tis the season of giving - won't you help make this Christmas a merrier one for the dogs awaiting their forever homes?
