Bark in the Park
Want to get active with your pooch and at the same time raise money to help animals in need? Slip into your running shoes, grab your dog, and get ready for Bark in the Park! Held in October at the scenic Rose Tree Park, this paw-some event features a 5K run and 1-mile walk to benefit Providence Animal Center. Whether you’re a serious runner or just out for a stroll, it’s a relaxed and social event where dogs are more than welcome! The day also features an exciting fall festival with heaps of canine contests, food trucks, local business vendors, a pitty kissing booth, and live music. There’s no shortage of things to see, do, and experience, so you and your pooch will be entertained all day long!

National Dog Show Charity Walk
The National Dog Show Charity Walk is an eagerly-anticipated annual dog walk that benefits a host of grrr-eat charities! Held at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, this paw-some event promises families and their dogs a whole morning full of fun. There are dog trick, costume, and beauty contests to enjoy, as well as agility dogs and therapy dogs to meet. Gift bags, raffles, and some wonderful prizes are also on offer, but the greatest gift of all is the feeling that comes with supporting some inspirational organizations! Admission is $20 per person or $35 per family, but the best part is that all dogs get in for free.

Halloween Yappy Hour
Each October as Halloween draws near, Morris Animal Refuge hosts a spooky Halloween Yappy Hour to benefit pets in need! This family-friendly event features an afternoon full of games and activities for animal lovers, with a doggy costume contest, photos with Morris’ resident mummy, and crafts for kids all part of the fun! Other highlights include a taco bar, drinks, music, a raffle, and plenty of adoptable dogs to meet and greet. Admission is $20 per person and $50 per family, while photos with the mummy and the doggy costume contest cost an extra $5. All proceeds go towards caring for the animals at the Morris Animal Refuge.

Mums and Mutts Fall Festival and Family Fun Day
Mums and Mutts is a Philadelphia non-profit dedicated to helping local rescue animals. This Fall Festival and Family Fun Day is its incredibly popular fundraiser, which provides a day full of dog-friendly fun for you and your entire family! All the fun takes place in Burke Playground, with some of the woof-tastic highlights including a cute canine costume contest, a fun kids’ zone, and adoptable animals from over 15 rescues and shelters. There’s even a blessing of the animals and plenty of paw-some giveaways on offer! Admission is via a $10 donation for adults, or a $5 donation for kids under the age of 12, with proceeds benefiting local animal rescues.
Pumpkin Smash
Celebrate all things pumpkin, enjoy a fun day out with your pooch by your side, and raise money for a very good cause at the same time! That’s exactly what you can expect to do at the annual Pumpkin Smash, hosted by City Tap House. With your furry friend by your side, you can sample 25 pumpkin beers and a delicious variety of pumpkin-inspired brunch dishes. You can dress your pooch in his or her cutest, most creative costume to win a grrr-eat prize, but the best part of all is that 50% of ticket sales go to the Morris Animal Refuge! A $10 ticket gets you a limited edition Pumpkin Smash glass and one complimentary pour from the Dogfish Head Punkin Cask — what’s not to love?
