Paws in the Park
This spooky dog walk is one you won't want to miss! Put on by the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga, this frightfully furry fundraiser is an annual event that happens every Fall at Ross's Landing Park. Join together with hundreds of other pet-lovers and pawesome pups for a charitable dog walk that benefits outreach to the community, medical services for needy animals, and shelter for homeless animals. Another neat feature - if you don't have a pup to walk, they'll let you rent a shelter dog for a stroll through the park! This Halloween-themed doggy event also features costume contests and prizes for smallest pups, largest pups, and the best tricks.36
Bark Parks
Chatt town has no shortage of puppy parks for you to take your four-legged friend. Some of the most popular parks are centrally located, all with fire hydrants to sniff and explore, agility toys, and benches for humans! Close to downtown, you can find Chew Chew Canine Park, a fully fenced-in park where your pup can run off-leash and free. Farther out, your active pup can enjoy parks like Greenway Farms, White Oak Park, and Heritage Dog Park - all which are well equipped with hydrating stations, fenced in play areas, and adequate puppy-poop-removal systems.24
Walkies and Hikes
If you own a pup that can't get enough of adventure, then Chattanooga is the town for you. There are hundreds of spots to take your pooch for the ultimate walk or hike, as long as you remember the leash! One favorite is Glen Falls on the beautiful Lookout Mountain. If the weather is nice and the water is warm, it's one of the best spots to take your doggo for a dip. Cumberland Trail, Raccoon Mountain, and North Chickamauga Creek are also heavily dog-pupulated trails! Make sure you remember to hydrate your pup (and yourself!) and to bring doggy clean-up bags, too!12
Rock City
Though not primarily dog-focused or themed, this major tourist attraction in Chattanooga encourages you to bring your pups to enjoy a mountain adventure inside Rock City. You and your leashed doggo can enjoy the woodland trails and gardens, and best of all, a view at the top of the mountain that allows you and your pup to see seven different states! Your pup won't believe his eyes.Pet-Friendly Festivals
While Chattanooga doesn't host many pet-specific festivals (we're pawsitive those are coming in the future), they do allow your fluffy pups to join you at many of their awesome, annual festivals that occur in their downtown area. Giant festival likes the Riverbend Festival - an eight-day, five-stage festival that features over 100 artists, and the 3 Sisters Festival - a bluegrass event that's been named one of the top five bluegrass festivals in the country. Both of these events allow your pup to enjoy the fun too!Check out the city schedule for 2018 to see what other pet-friendly festivals the city plans to host!
