“Dog hair is my favorite accessory 🐾 !”
I have been the go to pet sitter/walker for the last 7 years for several physicians in the area. I’ve never met a pup that I didn’t love! I’m very loyal, honest, caring, and treat all the babies that I care for as if they are my own. What could be better for an animal lover than to have the opportunity to spend time with animals, and create a fruitful income doing it?!

North Texas is full of stray dogs and cats, and Carrollton, Texas, is no exception. As a suburb of Dallas, Carrollton has its fair share of homeless animals searching for new homes. Fortunately, there are shelters in the area that can help these animals get a fresh start!
Operation Kindness is the original no-kill shelter of North Texas. It is also the largest. Since opening in 1976, the organization has saved the lives of almost 90,000 animals in the area. Animals are never turned away from Operation Kindness due to the cost of their medical care, and the group cares for and rehabilitates any cat or dog that comes into the shelter. Operation Kindness takes in animals from 45 other shelters and rescues in the area when they run out of space or need help treating an animal.
Cane Rosso Rescue is another non-profit shelter in the area that helps animals find new homes. The organization was founded in 2014 by restaurant owner Jay Jerrier, who also owns a restaurant called Cane Rosso. Since opening, the rescue has found new homes for more than 300 dogs in the area. To help other shelters in the area, Cane Rosso Rescue hosts adoption events and asks other local shelters to bring adoptable pets.
Carrollton residents won’t want to miss out on Operation Kindness’ Dog Day Afternoon! Join hundreds of other dogs and dog owners for a day of pet shopping, contests, and food trucks.
During the event, take your pooch over to the kissing booth for a fun photograph, spin the prize wheel, and see a number of fun and informational demonstrations. You can also head over to the Mutt Midway to browse through great products from pet vendors. Enjoy frozen goodies from Kona Ice as well. Enter your dog in one of the fun contests, including best costume and best pooch smooch!
The event is free to attend and runs from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
Join the SPCA of Texas each May for the annual Strut Your Mutt races! Starting at 8 am with registration and breakfast, the event includes a 5k race and a 3k fun run/walk. The race begins at the base of the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge in Dallas in Trinity Groves. Bring your pupper out for the race and then enjoy canine activities after you finish.
Registration for the 3k is $35, while the 5k costs $40.
The races help raise money to help the SPCA of Texas end animal cruelty in North Texas. The organization investigates over 3,000 cases of animal cruelty each year!
Each May, the Dallas Pet Expo comes to the Dallas Market Hall for a full weekend of pet fun. Bring your dog down for costume contests, demonstrations, and guest speakers during the expo. There will also be a bunch of different vendors at the event selling products for the pooches in your life. You won’t want to miss out on the giveaways, which include prizes for both people and canines.
Dozens of rescue groups will be at the expo with adoptable dogs looking for new homes. Your pet can also get a free nail trim and discounted vaccinations, microchips, and other medical services!
Join other pet owners during May for the event. On the Saturday, the event runs from 10 am to 5 pm. On Sunday, come out for fun between 11 am and 4 pm.
