Strut Your Mutt is a paw-pular annual fundraiser for the SPCA of Texas and features a 5K timed run ($40) or 3K fun run/walk ($35). Held at Trinity Groves/Continental Bridge, this family-friendly event sees animal lovers and dogs of all shapes and sizes come together to have some fun and raise some much-needed funds. There’s plenty of games and activities to enjoy on the day, not to mention the chance to meet other like-minded animal lovers, so why not check it out with your furry friend?

Pug-O-Ween
Ever wondered what it would be like to see hundreds of cute and cuddly Pugs parading in adorable Halloween costumes? Well, now you can find out! Pug-O-Ween is an annual fundraiser for DFW Pug Rescue Club, a local non-profit that’s been helping unwanted, mistreated, or homeless pugs since 1996. Held for more than 20 years, this woof-tastic event features a Halloween costume contest for Pugs at the Grapevine Convention Center. There are grrr-eat prizes across several categories, as well as food trucks, a silent auction, a bake sale, product vendors, and much more. It’s spine-tingling, blood-curdling, and downright adorable fun for any dog lover!

Dallas Pet Expo
If you want to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of pets and access the latest products and pet care advice for your furry friend, the Dallas Pet Expo is the place to go! Held at Dallas Market Hall, this free event features a wide range of exhibitors selling a huge range of pet products and supplies, as well as providing advice and demonstrations on how you can better care for your pooch. Other highlights include discounted vaccinations, free nail trims, pet adoptions, live entertainment, dog obedience demonstrations, and heaps of paw-some giveaways. And the best part of all? Leashed, vaccinated pets are more than welcome to come along with you and join in the fun!

Dog Bowl at the Cotton Bowl
Looking to take your dog somewhere a little bigger and more extravagant than your local dog park? If so, Dog Bowl at the Cotton Bowl is the paw-fect event for you! This woof-tastic annual event turns the legendary Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park into a super-sized, off-leash dog park. You and your pooch can take to this historic football field with canines of all shapes and sizes to play, socialize, and generally have a grrr-eat time! There are water stations and “dip and sip” splash bowls to help your pooch stay cool, as well as beer and plenty of other refreshments for the humans. There are also pet product vendors on site if you feel like hunting down a bargain for your furry friend.
North Texas Irish Festival
The North Texas Irish Festival is a big, bold, and loud celebration of the traditions and heritage of Dallas’ Irish community. Whether you’re looking to sample delicious whiskey, tuck into some traditional Irish cuisine, listen to live entertainment from Celtic folk singers, or even watch sheep herding in action, you can do it all at this family-friendly, March event. The festival promises a weekend full of Irish-themed fun and games in Fair Park, but the best part of all is that this is a pet-friendly event! On-leash, well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend, with organisers requesting that owners make a $1 per pet donation to the SPCA of Texas.
