Take your pooch along to the Spring Pet Fair, held during April at Corpus Christi’s Sunrise Mall. The fair is the paw-fect chance for you to browse pet products from a whole range of vendors and maybe even pick up a bargain or two. Bark in the Park
The Thomas J. Henry Bark in the Park Pet Costume Contest and Expo promises a day of dog-friendly fun and games for the whole family. Held at the Cole Park Amphitheater, this festive event benefits PeeWee’s Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary, Gulf Coast Humane Society, and P.A.L.S. Animal Shelter. The highlight of the day is without a doubt the costume contest, which sees pooches of all shapes and sizes strut their stuff in woof-tastic outfits as they compete for the $1,000 grand prize! But there’s a whole lot more you and your pet to see and do on the day, with food trucks, pet vendors, live music, and a super-fun kids’ zone. So grab your pooch and get ready to raise the woof!

K9 Surfing Contest
If you love witnessing spectacular feats of canine athleticism, the annual K9 Surfing Contest is a mutts-see! Held at Horace Caldwell Pier in Port Aransas, this cute competition sees clever canines tackling the best the ocean has to offer. It’s splasht-tastic, tail-wagging fun, and there are five different divisions based on the size of the sur-fur. There’s even a category for tandem surfers, plus a canine costume contest once the surfing is over. All proceeds go to Animal Friends of Port Aransas, so head on down to the beach and hang ten!

Pawfest
Pet-friendly, family-friendly fun — that’s exactly what you can expect at Pawfest, Gulf Coast Humane Society’s annual pet showcase! Held at the society’s Corpus Christi campus, Pawfest promises a whole weekend full of pet-related activities. There’s all the hilarity of the Not So Westminster Dog Show, which includes a range of talent and costume contests, as well as the fast-paced action of cat agility, the cuteness of a cuddly petting zoo, and the entertainment of an eating contest. And with food trucks, heaps of vendors, and pet adoptions, you and your pet will be kept busy all day long.
Corpus Christi Food Truck Summerfest
Love food almost as much as you love your dog? Get on down to Corpus Christi Food Truck Summerfest, which is held each July at Water’s Edge Park. As its name so clearly suggests, this event is all about delicious food truck cuisine — whatever you fancy, there’ll be a food truck on site ready to satisfy your cravings. There’s also a kids’ zone, an eating contest, and cold beer, but the best part is that pets are allowed to attend. Admission is free, so bring the whole family along and chow down!
