Give a Wag! Gives to Grapevine Shelters

Just a short drive from Dallas, Texas, Grapevine is known as the Christmas Capital of Texas, but what you won’t notice just walking down Main Street’s Historic Downtown shops and restaurants is the number of homeless animals in the area that are looking for new homes.

Grapevine Animal Services runs an animal shelter that cares for homeless cats and dogs from the Grapevine area. In addition to the shelter, Grapevine Animal Services also helps wild animals from time to time. Grapevine Animal Services takes pride in the fact that staff members help children learn about proper care of pets with a Grapevine Public Library librarian reading books about compassion for animals. Grapevine Animal Services cares for both cats and dogs.

The Coppell Humane Society is just a few minutes outside of Grapevine. This shelter opened in 1989 with just two women who were dedicated to helping animals. Since then, the organization has expanded to a network of foster families and volunteers who help care for rescue dogs and cats. The Coppell Humane Society takes in animals that are at high-risk for euthanasia at other shelters due to overcrowding. These animals are placed in foster homes where they receive care and training. All animals that come through the Coppell Humane Society stay in the program until they are adopted or pass away.

If you are interested in bringing a new pet into your home, consider a call to one of these two shelters. Each shelter is dedicated to helping animals find new homes, so they would love to hear from you!
