Lee Park Pooch Parade
Every year around Easter, humans and dogs unite in costume for a parade through Lee Park! Following the Turtle Creek parade route, costumed guests will be judged by a celebrity panel and selected to win prizes in different categories.
Prizes will be given out to the best Easter costume, most creative costume, best group costume, best spring costume, and more.
Registration is $10 per costume entry in advance. The day of the parade, entry will be $15 per costume entry. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult.
Check-in starts at 1 pm with the Lee Park Pooch Parade following promptly at 2.

Paws in the Park
Join other dogs and their owners at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center each April to celebrate dogs at Paws in the Park! Watch exciting demonstrations, shop pet-related vendors, get a caricature drawn, stop by the kissing booth, and watch dog races. There will be live music at the event as well!
The most popular events of the day are the Weenie and Wannabe Races. The Weenie Race features only Dachshunds, but the Wannabe Race is for all dogs under 20 pounds regardless of breed.
Raising Canes and In-N-Out Burger will provide food and drinks.
The event begins at 9 am and wraps up at 2. Admission is free.

Doggie Dive In
Bring in fall with a splash at Doggie Dive In at the Sun Valley Aquatic Center in Lewisville! To wrap up summer, dogs are allowed to spend the morning playing in the pool. Not only can your dog swim, but there are also other activities and contests to participate in. Contests include best swimsuit, best trick, longest jump, and fastest ball retrieval.
Aggressive dogs will not be allowed to enter the event as it is completely off-leash. All dogs must be current on vaccinations.
Registration is limited to only 200 dogs, so pre-registration is encouraged. Admission is $4 per dog, but humans get in for free!

Unleashed Paws Fur Fun Run
Are you ready for a fun 5k race with your favorite pooch? The Unleashed Paws Fur Fun Run delivers just that! Join other dogs and their owners at Noble Rey Brewing each May for either the 5k or one-mile run. The 5k starts at 8 a.m. on a day in May, with the one-mile walk starting at 9.
On the same day, the All Ameri-Dog Paw-ty runs from 8 am to 11. The Paw-ty will feature live music, hot dogs, beer, dog treats, pup pools, and more!
Ticket prices will be released closer to the event date. Proceeds benefit Patriot PAWS, and donations are also welcome.

Dog Days of Denton
Head over to Denton each October for the annual Dog Days of Denton event, which has been around for more than 20 years! This event is typically held the first weekend of October and features entertainment for the whole family—even your dog! Watch educational demonstrations and participate in arts and crafts. There will even be contests that you can enter your furry buddy in, such as the talent contest where your mutt can show off his or her best trick.
This free event at the North Texas State Fairgrounds runs from 9 to 3 pm, allowing for a full day of fun with your doggo!
