Moving to Boston after college has been great, but I really do miss my dogs Scout and Pinto back home! Currently, I'm a research assistant preparing for medical school. In my spare time, I like to go for long walks at the park outside my apartment or other places in the city on my weekends. I'd love to take your dog with me!

Hello! My name is Cat and I am so excited to hang with your pups! Working seasonally as a sailboat Captain makes it hard for me to have a dog of my own but I am excited that, through Wag, I get to spend some time with Seattle’s best dogs. I love walking around greenlake or exploring new parts of the city, rain or shine. Can’t wait to meet your best bud and have some adventures!

My name is Christine! I have always had at least one dog growing up, and currently have my own. Breeds I/my parents have owned/own include: Bichon Frise, boxer, pit bull mix, Belgian Malinois. I took one of my dogs to a training class for 2 years, and trained the others from home. I am used to walking larger dogs, as I currently live with the pit bull mix and Belgian Malinois.

Whether you and your dog love taking it easy or getting out and staying active, you’ll find plenty to see, do, and experience in Lubbock. You’ll also find a whole lot of other animal lovers in this northwestern Texas city, as well as myriads of animal welfare organizations working to save the lives of homeless pets.
South Plains SPCA is a perfect example. This non-profit organization promotes animal welfare and educates pet owners about how to best care for their furry friends. It also trains certified animal cruelty investigators and helps adoptable pets find loving owners, ensuring that every pet in and around Lubbock gets a chance to experience true happiness!
The Humane Society of West Texas also makes a difference to the lives of Lubbock’s pets. Founded in 1994, this non-profit animal rescue operates on a no-kill philosophy, relying on a network of foster homes to care for rescued animals until they can be matched with the right owner. The organization has chapters in Lubbock, Lamesa, Littlefield, Slaton, Snyder, and Tahoka, and aims to save animals and promote their welfare throughout the West Texas region.
Finally, The Haven Animal Care Shelter is also well worth a mention. Established in 1977, this no-kill, non-profit animal sanctuary usually houses over 100 animals, most of them dogs and cats. Its seven-acre property houses a wide variety of adoptable dogs and cats, giving them the care and shelter they need before finding loving owners. The Haven also offers education and pet therapy programs to the wider community, helping to promote and strengthen the human/animal bond.
If you’d like to support the hard work of The Haven Animal Care Shelter, take your pooch along to the annual Strut for the Mutts dog walk! Held in mid to late Fall at Higginbotham Park, this is the rescue group’s largest annual fundraiser. With your four-legged friend in tow, you can join a host of other animal lovers and their pets to enjoy a scenic stroll in the fresh air. There’s plenty of other dog-friendly experiences to take part it on the day, including raffles with a stack of grrr-eat prizes. And the best part? All event proceeds directly benefit the dogs and cats at The Haven!
A family-friendly fun run with a spooky Halloween theme — that’s what you’ll find at the Howl-o-ween Dog Run & Haunted Hustle 4 Miles, which takes place at Canyon Lake 6 each October! Dog lovers of all ages are encouraged to bring their canine companion along for a morning of fresh air, exercise, and dog-friendly fun. There are two courses to suit all ability levels, with a 1.2-mile 2K9 event and a more challenging 4-mile course. There’s even an adorable doggy costume contest before the race gets underway, so make sure you get there early to avoid missing any of the fun!
Does your dog simply love the water? Do you enjoy swimming by his side any chance you get? If you answered yes to these questions, K-9 Splashfest might just be the paw-fect event for you! Held in August at Montelongo Pool, this always-popular event invites owners and their dogs to dive in for a swim together! Dogs can compete in three different contests: the Swimsuit Competition, the Retrieving Contest (from the side or off the diving board), and the 25-Yard Timed Race, with some amazing prizes on offer in all categories. Door prizes are also available and dogs get in free. Entry for two legged-guests is $2.50 for adults or $2 for anyone 17 and under.
Looking for an event to help you enjoy the great outdoors with your pet this summer? Look no further than Dog Days of Summer, a pet-friendly day out hosted by the City of Lubbock’s Animal Services department. A celebration of all things canine, this free event promises a host of events and activities you can enjoy with your dog! There are demonstrations from police K9s and the South Plains Obedience Training Club, crafts, discounted microchipping, and heaps more. There will also be plenty of adoptable dogs on site for those looking to add a new fur-ever friend to their family, so head to Mahon Library to join in the fun!
Each year, Lubbock Parks & Recreation hosts a Santa Paws photo event for the city’s furry friends. If you want to get some cute shots of your pooch posing with the jolly fat man in the red suit, this is the paw-fect chance! Of course, there’s much more to do than just get your pup’s photo taken, with other attractions like vendor booths, prizes, and dog microchipping also on offer. Admission is free and pictures are $5 each, so get your pooch into his or her cutest costume and get ready to create some holiday cards your friends and family will love!
