My Furry Valentine
A Saturday in February from 12 pm - 6 pm, join the UAAC for their annual Furry Valentine event! The major details for the event are still in the planning process, but you can expect some delicious food from an array of food trucks like The Good Deeds, Falafel Tree, Silver Moon, and so much more! Dogs and humans are both welcome and all proceeds from this event will go to the Utah Animal Adoption Center to help support their dogs and cats. Annual Furry Fiesta
On a Saturday in August at 5 pm, join the Utah Animal Adoption center for this pup pawty! The event is held at their shelter facility and is perfect for the whole family - yes, including those fur babies, too. Non-aggressive dogs are invited to this party. Admission tickets include food and drinks and there will be plenty of events for kids, dogs, and adults alike! All of the proceeds go to help the dogs and cats at UAAC so they can get the proper care they so desperately need. More details will be available soon!24
Pooch on the Pond
Utah Grizzlies Pooch on the Pond is an annual event that takes place every year in January. At this game, you can bring your dog with you to watch the Utah Grizzlies play! There is a dog show during intermission, the corner section is reserved for people who bring their pup, and the first 300 dogs get an awesome gift to enjoy - your pup will be so excited! Tickets are $30 for both you and your pooch. You must reserve your ticker beforehand either from UAAC or at the Box Office.12
Building Better Behaviors
Put on by the Salt Lake County Animal Services, this is a special workshop for both humans and their canines. This class focuses on clicker and positive reinforcement training and the fundamentals of impulse control. There will also be a few other topics covered as well, including mental stimulation. This class is for 4 dog/human teams (no more than two people per dog) and 10 observers. This is a free event and you must register.
Strut Your Mutt
During October at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, gear up yourself and your pup and head out for a walk with tons of other dogs and humans! This is also a huge celebration - with over 50 vendors (many of them dog-related), activity zones for both kids and pets, a beer garden, food trucks, live music and entertainment, and contests. This is a pet-focused event and proceeds go to Best Friends or to other Utah animal welfare groups of your choice. This is an event you and your fur baby don't want to miss!
