Their dream is simple: a world where love wins and every animal has a home. Nuzzles & Co, formerly known as Friends of Animals Utah, was founded in 1990 by a group of animal loving citizens who saw the need for a safe haven for Park City's homeless animals. In their early days, the organization served as a rescue group that fostered animals until they were placed in permanent homes.
While committing their work to animal welfare, the rescue successfully lobbied for an animal control shelter in Summit County, which was built in 1995. Today, Nuzzles & Co operates their own adoption center and rescue ranch, both with state-of-the-art facilities to maximize the number of animals they can help, house, and find fur-ever homes!
Services available for the pets and people of the local community include adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, a foster program, and the Purple Paw program for domestic violence survivors. Every animal that comes into their care receives a veterinary evaluation, vaccinations, critical medical care, a spay/neuter procedure, and extensive behavior training, socialization, and enrichment. Since 1990, Nuzzles & Co has found homes for more than 15,000 animals as they continue to fulfil their mission to protect pets!
Summit County Utah Animal Control has operated a shelter and adoption center since 1995. In addition to serving Park City, they are a resource for the pets and people all over Summit County. The shelter takes in stray and unwanted animals with the end goal of adopting them into caring homes. Working with other local rescues, like Nuzzles & Co, they are able to achieve this goal and they never euthanize any healthy, adoptable animals! Summit County Animal Control provides animal refuge, dog licensing, adoption services, educational programs, lost and found animal reporting, and animal control law enforcement. It is their mission to promote spaying/neutering and responsible pet ownership for a future where every pet has a home.
