July 4th Celebration
Bring the whole family for a Star-Spangled Good Time! Your leashed pup is welcome to join you at this event - but is not permitted on the football field after the parade. The event starts with an All-American, Yankee-Doodle-riffic, sparkling parade! Watch as horses, large inflated balloons, clowns and all the rest pass you by. After the parade, there will be lots of family-friendly activities like face painting, balloon artists, games, yummy treats and fun! Be sure to stick around for the fireworks show. Come join your community and celebrate American pride with your pooch!36
Festival of Lights and Carols
Mark your calendar for this dog-friendly, festive and beloved Fairfax holiday tradition! Start the day with a pancake breakfast with Santa at the fire station, listen to carolers on the Square, do a little outdoor shopping at the holiday market, sip some ciders or hot cocoa and catch up with old friends and neighbors. Need a picture with Santa? Be sure to bring your camera because he will be making an appearance, too! The Christmas tree will be lit at 6:00 pm at the Old Town Square so stick around for the holiday cheer!24
Super Pet Expo
Pet Expo's are nice - but hold on - a Super Pet Expo? Be prepared for sheer pawfection and all things pet! This petcentric event will be held at Dulles Expo Center in nearby Chantilly, Virginia. Be sure to bring your leashed pup and check out over 150 local and national vendors with all things pooch, from food to treats to litter to coats to toys to tiny bow ties and ribbons, shampoos and the list goes on and on! No retractable leashes are permitted. Be sure you be a good pawrent and clean up after your pup while inside the expo. What a great way to spend the day with your furry best friend!12
Daniels Run Park
Let's go for a walk! Take in some fresh air and stroll along the wooded trails with your leashed furry pal. Be sure to bring plenty of water and dress for the weather and, as always, be a good pawrent and clean up after your pet! There are plenty of spots to sit and read, have a picnic or play fetch with your doggo! Cross over stone bridges overlooking babbling creeks, listen to the birds sing and get some good, fresh air in your lungs. Be sure to keep a close eye on your dog while walking in the woods in case of area wildlife.
Doggie Splashdown
Be sure to mark your calendar for September - after the dog days of summer comes your dog's chance to take the plunge at Fairfax Swimming Pool! The event is free but donations will gladly be accepted to benefit Fairfax's Humane Society. When you arrive, be sure to have proof of your dog's current vaccinations and keep your pup on a non-retractable leash until the event starts. Can you imagine the fun your furry friend will have splashing around with his dog buddies? Be sure to bring plenty of towels and your camera - you won't want to miss a minute of this canine fun!
