Give a Wag! Gives to Virginia Beach Shelters

The resort city of Virginia Beach boasts plenty of dog-friendly accommodation options and miles of beautiful beaches, some of which welcome canines for off-leash fun! And while it’s best known as a vacation destination, Virginia Beach is also a great place to live for dog-lovers and their furry friends.

Whenever there are dogs in need of help in the Virginia Beach area, they can always rely on one of a number of excellent animal welfare organizations to provide assistance. Virginia Beach SPCA is just one of those groups. With a mission to create a more humane and responsible community by eliminating animal suffering, it provides care and shelter to more than 4,000 companion animals each year. Through a foster network, a team of dedicated volunteers, an education program, and the provision of spay and neuter services, Virginia Beach SPCA is attacking the pet homelessness problem on multiple fronts.

Hope for Life Rescue Center also saves Virginia Beach pets in need. Founded in 2002, this pro-life organization is committed to rescuing abandoned, abused, neglected, and left-behind street animals, giving them the care they need and then placing them in loving homes. The Hope for Life Rescue Center is a 1,800-square-foot urban sanctuary for rescued pets. It’s open seven days a week, so pop in and say hello if you’re looking for a new fur-ever friend!
