Shoreline sits to the immediate north of downtown Seattle and enjoys easy access to the best dog-friendly experiences the city has to offer. The area is also well served by a host of great animal rescue groups and animal welfare advocates, such as PAWS and Emerald City Pet Rescue.
PAWS is a non-profit with a mission to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife, shelter and adopt homeless cats and dogs, and educate people to create a better world for animals and humans. Since 1967, the PAWS team has been tirelessly working towards a world where everyone recognizes the intrinsic value of animals and treat all creatures great and small with compassion and respect.
PAWS is situated in Lynnwood, around 20 miles north of Seattle, and works right across Washington State and the Northwest. As a private non-profit, it relies on the kindness, compassion, and generosity of individuals and corporations to be able to continue its excellent work.
Emerald City Pet Rescue is another local animal-based non-profit. Its mission is to rescue, nurture, and rehabilitate homeless and neglected animals, and care for those pets whose owners can no longer keep them for a variety of reasons. Established in 2013, Emerald City Pet Rescue saves most of its animals from high-kill shelters right around the country and helps them find a second chance at life in loving forever homes.
Run by a dedicated team of staff and hardworking volunteers, the group is always on the lookout for donations and new volunteers. By lending a helping paw, you can ensure that Emerald City Pet Rescue can keep providing assistance to animals in need for many years to come!
This annual fundraiser, and appropriately nicknamed “friendraiser”, is an eagerly anticipated day out for dog lovers in Shoreline and Seattle.
