Give a Wag! Gives to Vancouver Shelters

Vancouver is the largest suburb of Portland, Oregon, which regularly is featured in lists of the most pet-friendly cities in America. So it’s no great surprise to discover that this particular part of the world is home to plenty of dedicate animal welfare and rescue organizations.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is one of those groups. Founded in 1897, this inspirational animal welfare organization has been caring for animals throughout Southwest Washington and the surrounding areas ever since. With committed staff and the support of more than 800 volunteers, the society offers animal adoptions, lost and found services, and a commitment to creating a world where all companion animals can live out their lives in a loving home.

Second Chance Companions is also committed to helping animals in the Southwest Washington and Portland metro area. Founded in 1993, this non-profit is a no-kill organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Though only a small organization and one that doesn’t have its own shelter, Second Chance Companions feeds, cares for, adopts out, and spays and neuters as many animals as possible in the local community.

Finally, Must Love Dogs NW is another local rescue group that’s well worth a mention. Since 2008, this non-profit organization has worked tirelessly to try and achieve its goal of ending pet homelessness. It offers training assistance, educates the public on responsible dog ownership, and rehomes abused, neglected, and homeless dogs.

With a large network of dedicated volunteer foster carers, Must Love Dogs NW relies entirely on the generosity of the community to fund its excellent work. If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of animals in need, donations are always welcome.
