Meet trainers near you

Hi My name is Chris. I have been very lucky to grow up in a family that loves dogs. I currently own a pack of 3 ( 80 lb Goldendoodle, 20 lb Poodle mix, 40 lb German Shepard). My German Shepherd is a tripod ( only has 3 legs) and she is trained and certified for dog therapy. As a dog therapy team we visit senior homes, colleges/universities, and medical buildings. I have owned or worked with many different breeds ( Basset Hounds, Labradors, Bullmastiffs, Clumber Spaniel, English Bulldogs, Pit bulls, Airedales, Jack Russel Terriers, Poodles, Doberman Pinchers...) I enjoy walking dogs and training dogs. Thanks!

About Dog Training in Seal Beach, CA

Training Fun Fact #1:

There are few dog breeds as cute or as loving as the Beagle. But if you’re going to welcome one of these gorgeous dogs into your family, one of the challenges you may face is training your Beagle to come when called. As scent hounds, Beagles have a definite nose for adventure — so training a reliable recall is an important part of keeping your dog safe. The key to success is to start training in a distraction-free environment at home before moving on to more difficult situations. Rewards-based training will also help set your pup on the right path.

Training Fun Fact #2:

Has your dog developed some bad habits that make them a less than perfect housemate? Maybe your pup drinks from the toilet, loves jumping on the table, or has taken a liking to stealing the cat’s food. Whatever the problem behavior, there’s a good chance we’ve got a training guide to help solve it. And if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for online, there are lots of dog trainers in Seal Beach, CA, who can offer assistance.

Training Fun Fact #3:

Have you ever seen an assistance dog in action and been stunned by what those amazing animals can do? If so, you might be surprised by just what your own dog is capable of. For example, you might want to try training your dog to bring in the groceries, close a door, or pick up dropped items. And if you’re the type of person who likes to settle in on the couch for a long haul, you might even want to train your clever canine how to bring you a beer!

Average Cost of Dog Training in Seal Beach, CA

If you’re searching for dog trainers in Seal Beach, CA you’re no doubt aware that choosing a dog trainer isn’t an easy decision. There are many factors to consider — a trainer’s qualifications, experience, and methods all need to be taken into account, as do their communication skills. You may need to book weeks in advance to secure a session with a sought-after trainer, while there’s also the price tag to take into account.

But one of the first decisions you must make is whether you want group training lessons or private training for your dog. Group lessons are a great tool to aid puppy socialization and offer obedience training to adult dogs. They’re also an excellent way for you and your pup to make new friends with other dogs and their people.

If you’re signing up for group training sessions, you’ll probably need to commit to classes for 4 to 6 weeks. Prices vary, but generally fall somewhere between $150 and $400 for a full schedule of classes.

However, if group training isn’t the right choice for your dog, you may want to search for dog trainers in Seal Beach that offer in-home training. This allows your dog to receive the close attention they deserve, while you get the convenience of choosing a suitable time and having training sessions at home.

The downside of private training is that it’s a more expensive option. While some trainers charge around $80 an hour, it’s not uncommon to pay $120 to $150 an hour (or sometimes more) for a private training session. That’s a lot of money no matter which way you look at it, so you can save a lot of cash by booking Seal Beach dog training with a trainer on the Wag! platform.

Rates start at just $60 for a 60-minute session, which includes a customized training plan for your dog. It’s affordable and effective, so there are a lot of good reasons why you should book a Seal Beach dog trainer through us.

Going Off-Leash in Seal Beach, CA

If you’re keen to treat your dog to a fun adventure, why not let them enjoy some off-leash fun? There are several great dog parks to choose from in and around Seal Beach, CA, where your pup can run free, socialize, and just enjoy being a dog.

One such park is Arbor Dog Park, which is found on Lampson Avenue in Los Alamitos. This fenced park offers plenty of grassy space for your four-legged friend to run around, while shade and drinking water are also provided. The park is open from dawn till dusk, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a “pawpular” spot for pet parents and their pooches.

If you’d rather hit the beach, make the short journey along the coast to Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach. This beautiful stretch of sand is where you can let your pup off the leash to splash around in the water and race along the beach, not to mention play with all the other dogs in attendance. However, the area isn’t fenced, so you’ll need to have reliable voice control over your pet.

In fact, there are a few essential skills that every dog should have before visiting an off-leash park. Coming when called is one, while it’s also important that your pup doesn’t attack other dogs and doesn’t run away whenever they’re given the chance. But once your pet has these crucial behaviors sorted, they’ll be ready to have a whole lot of off-leash fun.
