Dixie Ridge Estates is a small single-family home community located just off LPGA Blvd. behind Danella Construction. Most of the homes here have large suburban-size yards with plenty of shade trees. There are dog-friendly parks and pet supply stores within driving distance and plenty of your favorite stores and restaurants nearby. The one thing missing from the neighborhood are sidewalks for your and your pup to walk on. While this doesn’t mean you can't take them for a walk in your home neighborhood, it does say that you need to be a little more careful.

The weather here ranges from the 30s and 40s in the winter to the high 90s to low 100s in the summer. The humidity here is omnipresent, but in the summer, it hits the 95 to 100 percent range, making the idea of going out for a walk in the middle of the day virtually impossible for either of you.

Like most of Daytona Beach, the terrain in and around Dixie Ridge Estates is virtually flat, potentially making for some very dull walks. The best way to make use of this type of ground is to plan your walking routes to ensure you and your pooch encounter different areas each day. Since you might become easily bored if you took the same way every day, so too does your pup! The more diversity you can add to your walks, the better, and just to the south, you will find Derbyshire Park with walking trails you can use to add a little more variety to your strolls.

For the ultimate workout, you need to hop in the car and head over to the beach. The sand in both dry and wet forms offers a variety of walking conditions that are sure to challenge both you and your dog and ensure you get plenty of exercise!

Not only are most of the yards in Dixie Ridge Estates green spaces in their own right, but there are many vast sections of woods and, of course, parks located all around the area. While some of the wooded areas are marked private property, many of them have trails running through them for you and your pup to explore.

Just to the northwest on Strickland Range Rd. lies Robert Strickland Park. This large park has an off-road R/C Track, a BMX track, baseball fields, and plenty of lovely green grass for the two of you to wander around, play a little fetch on, and generally get in plenty of exercise.

Just on the other side of I95 is Lincoln Park and the Tomoka Wildlife Management area, both of which offer acres of trails, trees, and shade for the two of you to wander around and get in your daily walks.
