As a tiny little community just north of Monterey Hills and southeast of the Arroyo Seco Pkwy, Hermon is one of the tiniest neighborhoods in Los Angeles. With a community market and a couple of restaurants, you really won’t find a lot of amenities in this tiny area. However, the residents here have their own dog park! Pet stores are a bit of a drive and you will have to head into Arroyo Seco to find a veterinarian.

The weather in Los Angeles is perfect for walking on most days and, since it never gets much colder than 50 degrees, you can usually walk year round. With an average temperature of 64 degrees, you won't even need to bundle your pup up. The only thing that might hold you up is the rain. With an average of 19 inches of rain a year, there are bound to be a few rainy days.

With a good mix of flat plains and hills, you can simply do walks your way. The terrain is great for both beginning and avid walkers. Through the middle of the neighborhood, flat areas are what you are most likely to find. Towards the outskirts of town, you will find more elevation so you can enjoy those hills if you and your pup are training for the next marathon or you just want to make sure your pup stays healthy and fit.

Like most neighborhoods in Los Angeles, you will be walking mostly on concrete but roads do have generous sidewalks on both sides with trees and patches of grass which might be enough for your four-legged friend to get their fill. If not, there are plenty of parks and greenways around the area so that you and your dog will never lack for a change of scenery and places to walk.

There are plenty of greenways with some in the borders of this tiny neighborhood with even more still just outside the community. This means lots of places where your beloved friend can sink his paws into some cool grass. There is a dog park here too, so if letting your pup run off-leash is your goal, you only have a short walk to the park where they can.

There is also Hermon Park where you will have to keep them on a leash, but your four-legged pal can still find some lovely shade, a place to roll in the grass, and space to relax.

To the west is Ernest Debs Regional Park with plenty of trails and to the east, you will find Elephant Hill which has some dirt trails you can use. Finally, a greenway and bike path exist along the northwest border of the neighborhood along with a trailhead to the already mentioned Ernest Debbs Park.
