South Lawndale is a community in Chicago that is divided into two smaller neighborhoods called Little Village and Marshall Square. Little Village is the result of immigrants fleeing the aftermath of the Great Chicago Fire. Today, the neighborhood is known as 'The Mexico of the Midwest' and much of its culture and events are owed to that heritage. South Lawndale boasts plenty of eateries and other amenities for you to take advantage of on your walks and also offers access to medical services to keep your pup healthy within close range of the community.  As with the rest of Chicago, you can expect hot and sometimes humid weather in the summer, but breezes off the lake should make early morning walks tolerable on the hottest days. The only time you are likely to have problems with going for walks is in the dead of winter when lots of snows, winds, and frigid temperatures make the outdoors less than hospitable.
