South Cedar Park is a well-established community with well-kept homes and plenty of sidewalks for you and your dog to walk along. It is the home of the Turie T. Small Elementary School and is right across the street from Samuel L. Butts Archeological Park. There are several other parks in the area, most of which are dog-friendly as long as you carry a poop baggie and pick up after your dog. There are pet stores within driving distance along with a number of restaurants offering a range of tasty treats.

Daytona offers plenty of sun, sand, and wonderful parks to take your pooch hiking. To make things better, the climate here is spectacular with winter lows in the 40s and summer highs hovering in the 90s. It might rain 51 days of the year, but you can count on no snow and 230 days of sunshine to go for walks with your pup!

The South Cedar Park area of Daytona Beach enjoys relatively flat terrain for you and your pup to go for walks on. While this might not seem very impressive or challenging, it's not as bad as you might think. For one thing, right across South Street, lies the Samuel L. Butts Archeological Park where there is a path that goes all the way around the park for you and your pup to walk along. The trail goes around the entire park including the lake.

Of course, if you prefer the pavement, be sure to don light-colored clothing or something reflective for your safety and keep an eye on the ambient temperature as once it hits the mid-70s, the pavement temperatures can reach 120 degrees which is hot enough to burn the pads on your dog's paws in minutes. The best time of day to walk your dog on the pavement is during the early morning hours.

The nearest greenway is just on the other side of South St. The Samuel L. Butts Archeological Park has a lake filled with fish and is home to a large number of bird species. The dirt trail that runs around the entire park is perfect for both you and your pup to walk along, making a nice break from walking on the pavement. Bear in mind that your pup does need to be on a leash at all times.

Just down the road is Tuscawilla State Park. This park is very popular with the disc golf gang, teasing them with 65 different pin placements. But more importantly, there are several nature trails for you and your pooch to discover and explore. Along with this, there is a picnic area, a playground, and plenty of parking space to ensure that you and your pup can always find a place to park and enjoy what's available.
