Camary Maud Groves is a residential neighborhood just off US 1 and Wayne Avenue. The community is split in two by the FEC RR track running through It. The northern section is larger and contains single-family homes, while the smaller southern section contains multiplex homes. Living here puts you within walking distance of several places to eat. If you love golf, you can walk to the New Smyrna Golf Course which is open to the public. Of course, you are only ten to fifteen minutes from the beach where you and Spot can play in the sand or go for nice long walks together.

But by far the best part of living here is that with summers in the 90s and winters in the 60 to 70 degree range, you can enjoy all the area has to offer all year long. This means you and Spot can get out for your daily walks virtually every day!

The terrain is about what you might expect in a Central Florida community in that it is typically flat and unexciting. This can be a bit of a problem when it comes to the taking your pup out for their daily walks. Try varying the blocks you stroll around. Better yet, take your pooch different places to walk like the beach, the Spruce Creek Preserve, or out to the Tiger Bay Wildlife Management Area.

Otherwise, consider taking advantage of some of the larger empty fields in this neighborhood, as they are typically a good alternative to being relegated to the streets. These spaces will require your dog to stay on a leash, but you can still take advantage of the cool footing that they provide.

Keep an eye out for traffic on the main roads and in nearby parking lots as they can pose a bit of a hazard, especially in the darker evening hours.

While the vast green space of New Smyrna Beach Golf Course is right next door, it is not a green space you can take your pup for walks on. Luckily, you are also right next door to the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. The preserve covers 1,637 acres and includes over 3 miles of nature trails that start with a stroll along the 536-foot long boardwalk. The trails lead to a 15-foot tall observation tower and, from there, venture all the way to Rose Bay.

While you and your pup are enjoying your hike through the preserve, keep a close eye out for the many different forms of wildlife that flourish here. The preserve is open daily from sunup to sunset and has numerous access points for you and your canine companion to use every chance you get for your walks instead of sticking to the pavement.
