Fairway is an all-encompassing name covering several neighborhoods surrounding the New Smyrna Beach Golf Course. The homes here are modest yet modern and offer you plenty of residential blocks to take your daily walks around.
One of the best things about living here, besides the golf course, is that you are only a short drive from the city's best restaurants, pet supply stores, the beach, and many other activities. There are waterways to go boating in, parks to play in, and a large dog-friendly park at the tip of the peninsula.
The temperatures here are amazing all year round with summertime highs in the high 80s to low 90s and winters in the 60s and 70s. You and your pooch will be able to go out for walks on just about any day of the year! The only thing that might stop you is the rain, though it shouldn't put too much of a damper on your routine.
The terrain here is mostly flat with not much for the two of you to get excited about. No matter which side of the golf course you live on, you will find plenty of residential blocks to incorporate into your daily walks. Most of the neighborhoods have sidewalks to use, making it much safer in comparison to walking on the streets. Along with this, you can use the sidewalks to take journeys into the other neighborhoods or, if you are feeling ambitious, you can follow them all the way around the outside of the golf course. Dogs are likely not permitted on the golf course itself, so keep that in mind as you wander.
Most of the streets in these neighborhoods loop around into a circle, so you'll want to remember where you've been so as to not get too turned around. No matter where you venture, however, you can utilize the golf course to find your way.
The funny thing about golf courses is that they count as green space for so many reasons, yet they are not dog-friendly! Which, when you live in Fairway, means you have to go off in search of other areas where you and Fido can go for walks and play around.
Fortunately, Otter Park North is at the southern end of the community on Pioneer Trail. Along with Otter Park South, there are plenty of nature trails for you and your pooch to follow, leading all through both parks, around the lake, and along Turnbull Creek. The parks offer you and Fido a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy a little peace and quiet.
Then, of course, there is the beach which is only a fifteen to twenty-minute drive away and offers the two of you a fabulous place to walk, chase seagulls, and play in the surf.
