Grandview New Smyrna is a small residential community on the west bank of the Indian River. The homes here are larger and more expensive with many having a private dock and boathouse. You can look out to the east and see the Yacht Club Island Subdivision and Smyrna Yacht Club. For those who like to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants nearby serving up an incredible variety of foods for you to sample. Across and on the other side of the river is Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve where you and Fido can go canoeing in the many waterways, stop and do a little fishing, or find some dry land to hike around on.

The weather here is dreamy with summers in the 90s and winters in the 60s and 70s. You and your pooch aren't likely to find many days when the two of you can blame the weather for not going for a walk.

The terrain in Grandview New Smyrna is mostly flat and residential. There are multiple residential blocks for the two of you to walk on, most of which have sidewalks. The area around Magnolia Street will provide you with a road that is relatively easy to navigate, though sticking to it will take you into adjacent communities as well. Grassy curbs can provide some nice places for a pit stop, as long as your pup is cleaned up after. The area, however, can have quite a few private lawns which will want to be avoided unless you know it's a safe place to be.

S Riverside Drive will take you and your pooch past those private docks with interesting and sometimes lovely views of the waters of the Indian River North. Stay on the westward side of the street to avoid venturing too close to muddy riverbanks that can cause slips and falls.

Those who live here are very lucky in that they have direct access to two vast green spaces. The first is the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve. The preserve is part of the Indian River Lagoon system and is home to a large school of dolphins. Along with plenty of waterways for you and Fido to explore in a canoe or rowboat, there are numerous trails to wander around on.

A little further to the north is the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve where you and your pup can wander on the miles of trails running through over 1,600 acres of ground and marsh between Port Orange and New Smyrna Beach. The nature trails give you a chance to get back to nature and enjoy exploring. Along with this, you never know what type of wildlife you might see while you are walking around. The trails will ultimately take you to the 15-foot high observation tower and then onto Rose Bay.
