Hacienda Del Sol is a small family-friendly condominium on the beach. Each of the units offers a view of the ocean from the balcony. For those who are accustomed to getting up early in the morning, grab a cup of coffee and kick back on the balcony to watch the sun come up out of the water with your dog. Watching the colors change in the sky is worth getting up early for!
For those who like to eat out, there are several restaurants within walking distance of the condos as well as a Dollar General Market where you can pick up a few odds and ends. Five minutes to the north on E 3rd Avenue are more places to dine and a Publix grocery store where you can pick up both human and dog food to make sure everyone in the family gets enough to eat.
Living along S Atlantic Avenue means living in an area where you can expect the traffic to be bustling from early in the morning until late at night. S Atlantic Avenue is the major road running along the coast. Not only do you and your dog need to be aware of the heavy vehicular traffic on this road, but the sidewalks running alongside it are also bustling during the day and early evening. If you decide to walk your dog in this area, you should keep them on a short leash.
The beach can be a better place to walk your dog, but not during the day as it can be just as busy as the surrounding areas with both people and cars taking up valuable beach real estate. The best way to avoid this is to take your walks early in the morning before the rest of the world wakes up.
The most obvious and nearest green space is the beach. It offers the two of you miles of dry sand that tends to be tough to walk in and will give both of you a good workout. At the same time, it also offers you wet sand that is much easier to walk on and, if you kick off your shoes, you can cool your feet in the surf while your dog does the same for their paws.
On the other side of the peninsula is the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve. The best way to see this massive green space is via boat. There are miles of waterways that are dotted with islands, some of which are big enough for you and your dog to walk on. While you are out on the water, you might run into the pod of dolphins who call the lagoon home.
