The most substantial part of Napier Hull Grant is undeveloped land next to and including the New Smyrna Beach RV Park and Campground on Old Mission Road. The area offers a lake to walk around and woods with trails to check out. The New Smyrna Beach Dog Park is less than ten minutes away. If you want to eat out, it's only a ten-minute drive into the heart of town where you will find a great selection of fast-food chain restaurants and family-style restaurants for you to enjoy. For those who love the beach, it's only a fifteen to twenty-minute drive depending on traffic.
Speaking of the beach, not only can you and Fido enjoy it all summer long with temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s, you can continue enjoying it all winter long with temperatures in the 60 to 70-degree range and only a few days of rain per month.
Unlike most of New Smyrna Beach, the terrain out here is mostly woods and undeveloped areas. Inside the campground, there are several paved roads and plenty of grass for you and Fido to walk on. You can take your pooch out by the lake for walks around the water or into one of the nearby neighborhoods and make use of the streets and sidewalks to create a variety of walking routes for the two of you to try out.
Much of the undeveloped space is unmaintained, so you should be prepared to run into some particularly dense undergrowth. Around the lake, especially, you'll want to exercise caution in areas where it is prone to flooding. These areas can easily become muddy and hazardous under the wrong conditions.
Old Mission Road will provide you with a place to walk on the side of the street, providing you keep an eye out for passing traffic.
There are plenty of woods around the area, some of which you may be able to walk in with Fido while others are on private property. However, you are less than ten minutes away from the New Smyrna Beach Dog Park. This park is separated into separate sections for large and small dogs with concrete obstacles for the dogs to play on. Each section also has water fountains for dogs and their humans. There is also a shaded area to relax in while your furry friends play.
Let's not forget the beach that is less than twenty minutes to the east! You and your pooch can make use of the soft sand that makes every step you take challenging. It's a great way to get a good workout in. You can also make use of the wet sand and surf to cool off and have a little fun on your way back to where you parked the car.
