Riverbeach Estates is one of the last communities to the north on the "beachside" before you run into the Smyrna Dunes Park. Living here means having to drive for just about everything including places to eat out or the nearest Publix grocery store where you can buy many common brands of dog food. If you want a pet supply store, you have to drive back over to the mainland side of town, where you will find several different stores to choose from.
Living here puts you within a five-minute walk of the coast and the bank of the Indian River. At the end of Ocean Drive, there is even a public fishing dock jutting out into the water!
The weather here is quite warm virtually all year round with January daytime highs in the upper 60s and summers in the upper 80s. There won't be many days of the year when you won't be able to go for your daily walk.
The terrain here is suburban to the point of pain with flat streets filled with tightly packed houses and condos. On the east side of the area, you'll find plots of scrublands and the long span of riverbanks. Where you walk will determine the terrain you and your pooch have to walk on. On the one hand, you have sidewalks and streets around the homes and property which are all primarily flat and easy to navigate. You won't face any hills or steep climbs in this area.
Alternatively, the water may pose a bit of a challenge when it comes to maintaining the safety of both you and your four-legged friend. Some areas may easily flood or be muddy and hard to contend with during foul weather, so you'll need to assess your pathways depending on your conditions.
Ultimately, you'll have more than enough options in this neighborhood to satisfy your pooch, no matter what their exercise style is.
Living in Riverbeach Estates puts you within a five-minute walk from the beach which runs for miles to the south, though the inlet cuts it off to the north. Here, you and Fido can go for early morning walks, letting the soft sand add some challenge to your walks. Or you can walk on the wet sand where the walking is easier and you have the surf to play in. You and your pooch can have plenty of fun romping in the surf and cooling off on a hot summer day.
A short drive to the north is Smyrna Dunes Park, where you and your pup are welcome as long as they are leashed. The park offers plenty of space for the two of you to run around, trails you can hike along, and a beach where both man and beast are welcome to play together in the summer sunshine or on a warm spring day.
