The Sweat Wright neighborhood sits right off E 3rd Avenue right where it comes across from the mainland. Fortunately, 2nd Avenue creates a barrier between the businesses along A1A and the traffic that flows along this bustling thoroughfare. The community is one of modest single-family homes in a well-kept environment.

Along E 3rd Avenue, there is an eclectic mix of restaurants and stores for you to wander through. You never know what you might find! Plus, there are several restaurants and taverns along the same street that are definitely worth looking into. The nearest grocery store is across A1A where you will find a supermarket.

The beach is to the east where you and your dog can spend virtually every day going for long walks together. The best time of day during the hot summer months is just as the sun starts to peak its head above the ocean. There is something extraordinary about a crystal-clear morning as the sun comes up.

Living on the peninsula does mean a few things when it comes to taking your dog for walks. First, the land here is extremely flat, so don't expect much in the way of challenging terrain. On the flip side, there are dozens of peaceful residential neighborhoods around with and without sidewalks you can use for your daily walks. Beyond rush hours, these streets are typically so quiet you can hear a pin drop.

A1A or E 3rd Avenue is the main thoroughfare and is always busting with traffic. It's not the best place to be out walking with your dog as you can also expect a fair amount of pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks due the number of restaurants and stores on both sides of the road. You should stick to walking within the residential areas or out on the beach where there is less traffic and it is much safer.

The beach is, of course, the nearest greenway and is a great place to take your dog out for walks. You can use the soft sand for your workout and then enjoy playtime together on the wet sand and in the surf. There are a few smaller grassy parks in the near vicinity, but five minutes in the car together will take you to the end of the peninsula where you will arrive at Smyrna Dunes Park. The park offers a rather unique feature.

Within the boundaries of the park, there are five individual ecosystems, each of which is tended and maintained by many of the students and volunteers in the community. A two-mile-long boardwalk takes you past these areas from above where you can enjoy without damaging them. There is still plenty of room for you and your dog to play, including an on-leash dog-friendly beach where the two of you can cool off in the waters of the Ponce Inlet.
