The Inlet at New Smyrna is a large condominium complex on the Indian River at the northern tip of the peninsula. Beyond the condos, the only other land is the Smyrna Dunes Park, a Coast Guard Station, and the National Marine Fisheries Services. This is a nice quiet condo with an outstanding view of the Indian River and the spectacular sunset.

Living here puts you a fifteen-minute drive from great restaurants, incredible pubs, and, more importantly, a grocery store that also sells pet supplies. This is a small price to pay for being able to live or vacation in such a beautiful location. The condos have private docks where you can keep your boat for when you have time to hit the water on a 90-degree summer day. The park next door also makes a great place to take your dog for walks and to play in the water.

If you are looking for a quiet place to take your dog for walks, you won't find that to be a problem here. The only traffic stems from those who work at the Coast Guard Station, the fisheries, and anyone using the park. This may be one of the quietest places on the peninsula and has plenty of safe places to take your dog for walks.

The ground here is mostly flat, but the slight changes in elevation are barely noticeable and are not likely to add much of a challenge to your walks. You may find that, with the beach only a short walk to the east, you encounter more pedestrian traffic than vehicular. While there are plenty of sidewalks to go walking on in the surrounding communities, a much better place to go for your walks is out on the beach where you can enjoy the cool breezes coming in off the ocean.

Living here puts you close to a variety of green spaces for you and your dog to go walking.

You can go to the north into Smyrna Dunes Park. Here, in one small park, you can experience five different ecosystems including sandy dunes, riverfront properties, ocean views, saltwater marsh, and scrub zone. There are paths through these areas, a dog-friendly beach, and, of course, the inlet to swim in. Just remember to keep your dog on a leash in the park!

Then, if you go back to the mainland, you can head up to the Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. There are several trails running through the preserve for the two of you to go hiking along, a 15-foot tall observation tower that lets you see for miles out over the swamps, and plenty of wildlife to be on the lookout for. You'll be sure to find several fun activities to keep you occupied in the preserve.
