Walker Grant is a large section of the beachside bounded on the west by the Indian River North, the Atlantic on the east, and numerous streets to the north and south, including historic Flagler Avenue. No matter where you live in this part of town, you are never more than a five to ten-minute walk from the beach and the many shops, bars, and eateries on Flagler Avenue.

Despite being a residential area, the mix of condominiums on the beach, single-family homes, and businesses make it a busy one. Some of the areas are busier than others and rush hours are always busy. Everything you need is within a few minutes of your home, including fantastic places to eat, a Publix grocery store, and much more. The beach offers you and your dog a great place to exercise and there are other green spaces nearby for the two of you to enjoy exploring together.

Spanning the entire peninsula and being so close to the North Causeway means you live in a bustling part of town. This can make taking your pup for walks a bit more challenging, but if you try to avoid rush hours and when the school buses are running, you should be able to find times when it's safe for you and your pooch to head out and about.

Part of the problem lies in the fact that other than Flagler Avenue, North Peninsula, and North Atlantic Avenue, there aren't any sidewalks for the two of you to walk on. This means you must take extra care and pay very close attention to the traffic around you. You can also expect to see a healthy amount of pedestrian traffic in this highly popular tourist area of town, so be sure to keep your dog on a short leash for everyone's safety.

The nearest green space is the beach where the two of you can walk for as many miles as you can handle to the south as the sands run uninterrupted all the way to Port Canaveral. The soft sand makes for a great workout and, when you can't take anymore, it's time to turn around and return home on the firm, wet sand. To make things even better, the water offers both of you a great way to cool off after a nice long walk.

To the north are the twin parks of Grayce K. Barch Park and Grayce K. Barch North Beach Community Park. Here, you will find a large patch of woods to hike in, trails to hike on, and one of the only Volusia Beaches Fire Pit Areas in the county. It's a great place to bring the whole family for a day on the dunes with a picnic and enjoy the surf!
