Windfall Manor sits on S Atlantic Avenue, but rather than being a beachside condo, it can be found on the west side of the street. However, the beach is only a five-minute walk from your room!
If you prefer to dine out rather than cooking, there are plenty of great restaurants within minutes of your home. To help ensure you have everything you need for Fido, there are several pet supply stores nearby. In addition, the nearby Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve offers miles of waterways for you and your pooch to explore in a canoe.
One thing no one complains about here is the weather. From June through September, you can count on temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s with endless sunny days to enjoy. During the winter months, you can expect temperatures in the 60s and 70s which are perfect for taking your pup on long walks on the beach.
The terrain immediately around the condominium complex is mostly residential, offering you plenty of blocks to walk around, though many do not have sidewalks, making it a bit difficult to stay off of the road and away from traffic. Luckily, aside from the main thoroughfare of S Atlantic Avenue itself, the rest of the residential roads can be relatively quiet and devoid of busy traffic. This is a better option if you're looking to stay clear of vehicles and wandering tourists, especially if your pup is less inclined to meet and greet with random strangers.
If you need an extra challenge, you can venture to the sandy coast to wander up and down the dunes. This can be an excellent locale for your pooch to really open up and get a run in, as long as you're willing to keep up with them while hanging onto the end of the leash!
The beach is obviously the nearest and largest open space with miles of sand and surf for you and Fido to hike on. Like pavement, the dry sand can become extremely hot during the summer months and, to avoid this, you and your pooch should take your walks early in the morning while things are still cool and the beaches have yet to fill up with beachgoers.
Alternatively, you can take a drive north on S Atlantic Avenue. This will take you to Smyrna Dunes Park. This park covers a large area at the tip of the spit sticking out into Ponce Inlet and is one of the few dog-friendly parks in the area. You and your canine companion can hike along the nature trails that wander through the greenery. You can also play on the dog-friendly beach and take a dip in the ocean waters to cool off before heading home.
